I'm sorry to report that Shimmer1 passed away last September. She did it on her own terms after three bouts of cancer, heavy radiation, three surgeries, and four rounds of chemo.
They wanted her to do a fifth round of chemo, and she said ¡no más!
She was at peace, knowing she'd done all she could. I was able to visit her a few days before her last, and her sons were with her when her time came.
Tough lady, I doubt I could have gone through all she did.

Our friend, the one who will not be ignored, lost her sister at the same time and I was petrified to call Shimmer1
