Brownies and Girl Scouts were unremarkable experience, mostly making crafts, peddling cookies and chatting about menstruation. The Boy Scouts had all the fun and adventure and were taught lifelong applicable skills. The Boys Scouts are a far better organization than the Girl Scouts and girls should not be denied they chance to be part of such a great organization.

That's because women were the leaders! My grandson's scout troop had mom's as leaders when it started up in second grade and my son-in-law took him out of the troop because all they did were crafts and girl stuff--so it's the LEADERS!

Because boys will not have the opportunity to be boys...ever. Everything will be tailored to the needs and sensitivities of girls.

In the words of my daughter; girl scouts (brownies) are lame. My two nieces agreed. My daughter and two nieces worked at boy scout camps.

Why can’t the Girl Scouts adopt the programs they like from the Cub Scouts instead of infiltrating the Boy Scouts?

I just don’t get it... There is the Girl Scouts and their younger version (Brownies) - If they don’t like what those organizations do (or don’t do) - then get involved and expand it. But what is the point of taking over a MALE organization?

Then again - is this not just like the military schools that were all male - until lawsuits?

This is why I have cut the ties with my college fraternity - about the time I graduated, some chapters had gone co-ed (under the supposed reasoning that there wasn’t the sister organization present... But now it has completely gone co-ed all over the nation, even when the sister organization is present (and often quite strong).

When will the lawsuits begin to force the Catholic Church to ordain women as priests? Or for that matter - the same in Baptists Churches (at least most of the mainline and conservative Baptists still hold to the Scriptures when it comes to pastors and deacons)....

Don't you understand that what they did to the Girl Scouts is now what they are trying to do to the Boy Scouts, i.e., destroy it and deflect it from its original ethos, and transform it beyond recognition?
