One hallmark of modern liberalism is the concept of spreading the low around. We see how it has destroyed the notion of striving for excellence in public schools, in industry, and grossly in politics. Liberal thinking dictates that all should be completely vulnerable, so that the power structure is nanny to all ... Well, all except the leftist oligarchy.

I was reading about that during a lighting storm earlier. One hit close by and it sounded like an explosion and the ground shook. I was like, what timing!

There’s a reason I bought a house on a hill.

Now if I only had 100 acres to go with it. Maybe in a few years.

Interesting article. But it’s hard for me to imagine sustained civil unrest happening at least while we are the fattest and most entertained people ever. Heck, our poorest are the most likely to obese, can’t see them taking to the streets and undergoing hardship, at least if they have a choice about it.

Also we haven’t even had 65% eligible voter turnout for 100+ years, way less for state and local. So the folks that choose not to vote have outnumbered any single political party. And it’s been that way for a long time. Seems like more would try to vote before they take to the streets.

Good prepper article! Thank you for pinging and posting.

I began earnestly laying up supplies when Obama’s minions came to power. I felt that they were the most likely to dampen the economic freedom of our nation and reduce the vitality of the globe in general. See Venezuela today.

I was right, they did but, fortunately, America has an enduring reserve of power and independence. Now that the zombies are, “on the outs” they are quite probably even more dangerous as they have lost their sense of power and control.

As conservatives feel we are in the ascendency, it would be easy to start to relax, but prepping is best accomplished in the fat times.

Again, thanks for the article!

Yes, the elites are hypocrites. They want to ban everything for the masses, but of course exclude themselves.

They have another thing coming. They won’t be nearly as prepared as they think. Just buying things and not knowing how to use them won’t be nearly enough.

The skills are necessary.

I’ve seen pictures of their bunkers and the luxury is unbelievable.

They look like they are thinking of them as little resorts.

Much of what they put in there is NOT going to be much of a help.

You want stuff that’s NOT dependent on electricity, and stuff that has PRACTICAL use.

Not pool tables, etc.

Pool tables, LOL!

No, that one’s not on my prepper list :-)

Just thinking about it, not only is the pool table ridiculous - but it shows that their mindset is completely wrong. Who the heck is going to have time to play pool? Between splitting and stacking wood by hand, hunting, planting, and cooking food from scratch, I plan on being exhausted with no free time for even the other things I have to do.

Thank you for the ping!

“all he must do to ensure it doesn’t hurt anyone is not shoot anyone with it.”

Well, that’s really just too logical. No liberal could ever understand that.

Some board games are more along the lines of entertainment that someone who has worked that hard could use. Along with books.

Not big screen TV’s and a stock of DVD’s.

Yup, without the skills and know how to get what they need when their supplies run out, they are screwed anyways.

When the world no longer values our dollar, and we are plunged into poverty, all those fat and poor people are coming to your house, where they will rape and eat your family.

That's how it ends.

I still haven’t heard the government’s answer to the question of what is the need for the government to spend an unprecedented amount of taxpayer dollars to provide arms and ammunition to the Energy Department, the EPA, the IRS, the Education Department, the Department of Veteran Affairs, choose your favorite non military, non defense related department, etc. The Second Amendment was included in the Constitution to protect the citizens from tyrannical government and not to insure that hunters always had a way to shoot animals.

The question has to be asked carefully and publicly.

Don’t give them an easy out by including the IRS or Fish and Game.

Haven’t seen that done yet.

Let's look at events that could drive the benefit of having "prepped": 1-Dems win 2018 mid-terms, Impeach Trump and won't allow Pence to be seated. Following a series of liberal excesses, Civil unrest ensues.

Someone emailed me a link to the original article and I googled it up to see if it had been posted on FR, which it clearly has.

So I decided to read the comments to see what people had to say last year and found this one of yours.

Good foresight.

Time will tell if the impeachment goes through and what they do about Pence.

The attrition rate during any upheaval is going to be pretty high considering how ill prepared people are to deal with any reality, much less one that demands basic survival skills.

The way I see people dressing even in the winter is staggering.

Exposure, hypothermia, dehydration, and general weakness from hunger are going to catch up to most of these people REALLY, REALLY fast.
