Aren’t there HIPPA laws that forbid doctors from sharing medical info about their patients without first getting patient approval?

He reminds me of the researcher or doctor in the movie, Independence Day. The one who had a face-to-face with the alien.
Worse than that, he violated patient doctor confidentiality by telling the press he prescribed hair growth medicine for him. Lucky he wasn’t sued out of his practice.
When I switched doctors, I had the records from my previous doctor sent to the new doctor. Also, every test I ever had, I asked for and received a personal copy.
Pretty sure revealing a patients treatment without their consent is a crime.
