Robert Bernard Reich is an American political commentator, professor, and author. He served in the administrations of Presidents Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, and Bill Clinton. He was Secretary of Labor from 1993 to 1997. He was a member of President-elect Barack Obama's economic transition advisory board.
The first sentence describes Obama AND Hillary to a tee.
“The working class fell for Mr. Trump’s economic populism.”
Billionaire businessman versus former presidents and presidential candidates who never worked a real day in their lives, and the results are already evident. America first versus closet Communists and open Socialists.
What economic number can liberals point to that were better under Obama?
What does the GDP say? What does the employment rate say? Are investors putting more or less in the market now than before?
The voters “fell” for reality as opposed to the empty promises and media deception that has been used to manipulate and control the populace.
Trump is working. MAGA.
“Barack Obama bailed out the banks but not homeowners. Obamacare, while important to the poor, didn’t alleviate the financial stresses on the working class, particularly in states that refused to expand Medicaid.”
This is the only true statement from the article.
Yet this is what he wants to offer:
“A few Democrats are getting the message, pushing ambitious ideas like government-guaranteed full employment, single-payer health care, industry-wide collective bargaining and a universal basic income.”
Who pays for that? And this was Obama’s economic adviser?
They just don’t get it. Keep on losing Democrats.
Thats a lot of technobabble to respew the mantra - they wuz raciss!
And how do we stop that going forward? Why we use thought control.
I think the much more important question for our survival as a Constitutional Republic is, how can the American people stop Robert B. Reich (and prevent future Robert B. Reichs)?
Reich has always been a backwards Commie moron. We need more Trumps, not fewer.
Trump came along with better ideas to solve America's debt and Obama's foreign policy mess.
Trump has done a steller job so far. North Korea has come to the treaty table and promised peace for the first time in 50 years. Iran has been exposed as lying to the world and exposed as a hostile power preparing to be a nuclear aggressor.
Trump's successes just go on and on. The Special Counsel is now obviously a wolf in sheep's clothing - a last ditch to chance to stop Trump from succeeding where democrats have failed for 70 years.
Go Trump Go. Fire the evil progressive democrats and their leader.
Reich is a lying little troll.
“...prevent future Trumps...”
After WWII we wanted to prevent future Reichs.
Just abandon the 2-party system and put swastikas on everything, you a%$hole!!!
Is this midget still casting his shadow over America?
Higher taxes, guaranteed income, union stranglehold on economy, single-payer health insurance: thats his suggestions for the Dems. Preach it, bro. Be sure to double down on this in 2024 too.
Go away Tiny Bob.
Why did working-class voters choose a selfish, thin-skinned, petulant, lying, narcissistic, boastful megalomaniac for president?
Seriously - if he actually believes what he wrote (as opposed to just being another hate filled screed against President Trump) then his advise is worthless.
The first step in solving a problem is being honest about what the problem is. Mr Reich is not being honest with his readers or himself. He appears to be blinded by his own beliefs.
DEAR MR. REICH: You had your chance. You failed. You just made the debt worse and grew the size of the intrusive government. SHAME ON YOU.
OMG, I agree with Robert Reiccccccccchhhhhhh!!!!
They absolutely did choose a selfish, thin-skinned, petulant, lying, narcissistic, boastful megalomaniac for president ... on 11/4/2008.
Projection.
Trump is the result of the Commie-fa talk and policies of Utopian, Agenda 21, Global Warming, Left Winger Extremists against Personal Liberty.
(And why is the NAS working on ‘Rat themed social polling? Sounds antiScience)
