Vice President Mike Pence's physician, Dr. Jennifer Peña, resigned after derailing the nomination of White House physician Admiral Ronny Jackson to become secretary of Veterans Affairs with unsubstantiated allegations of professional misconduct on his part.
“The vice president’s office was informed today by the White House Medical Unit of the resignation,” Pence spokeswoman Alyssa Farah commented Friday. “Physicians assigned to the vice president report to the White House Medical Unit and thus any resignation would go entirely through the Medical Unit, not the vice president’s office.”
Dr. Peña was among those who claimed professional misconduct by Jackson. In memos obtained by CNN, she claimed Jackson may have violated Karen Pence’s patient privacy rights by sharing details of a medical incident involving her to chief of staff John Kelly.
Politico notes that “the allegations were troubling to many in Pence’s office and the White House, who felt that Pena misrepresented the severity of the situation in an effort to harm Jackson, according to the person familiar with the situation.”
Her resignation reportedly occurred Wednesday.
Jackson withdrew his name from consideration for the position of VA Secretary after Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT) released a report of allegations of professional misconduct made by 23 current and former colleagues. These included claims that Jackson improperly dispensed medications and was drunk while on duty.
The Secret Service denied some of the reporting regarding the allegations.
"Over the last 48 hours, media outlets have alleged that U.S. Secret Service personnel were forced to intervene during a Presidential foreign travel assignment in order to prevent disturbing (former) President Barack Obama," The Secret Service said in a statement.
"The Secret Service has no such record of any incident; specifically, any incident involving Rear Admiral Ronny Jackson. A thorough review of internal documents related to all Presidential foreign travel that occurred in 2015, in addition to interviews of personnel who were present during foreign travel that occurred during the same time frame, has resulted in no information that would indicate the allegation is accurate."
Rush said the story she told was not true.
Did she lie?
Did she resign or was asked / told to?...............
Read this case history and ask how this woman ever got close to the Vzp of the US

I really don’t trust Pence or his doctor.
I feel about Pence the way I did about Bush Sr. He was Reagan’s biggest mistake. Trump MUST NOT allow the same mistake. By 2024 the TRUE heir apparent MUST have emerged to finish the job Trump has begun in MAGA by Restoring our Free Constitutional Republic.
And still we don’t know her Army rank.
I'm shocked that holdovers from the Obama administration are in that position.
The Vice President does not pick his doctor, in this case, she was assigned to this position by the White House Military Office who controls the military medical unit at the White House. She joined the White House staff during the Obama Administration.
Hard for me to believe that the VPOTUS can’t choose his own doctor.
Either way, Pence is NOT the man for 2024. I hope the right guy emerges soon.
Probably because she is not in the Army, but is a member of the Public Health Service, which uses Navy ranks.
After reading the CNN article linked in the report, which did not name the physician, it seems that the physician was trying to spin actions by Jackson as being violations of HIPAA law when, in fact, they are not. I don't think she personally liked Jackson, and she set out to derail his nomination as a result.
that just gets worse and worse!
Do you actually trust ANYBODY appointed by the Obolo White House? Do you anybody who be accepted by the Obola White House staff?
I keep reading in these articles that she’s an Army doctor and based on her prior assignments it looks like she is. I’m familiar with the PHS.

Army doctor
Very interesting video link in this case study
No, I do not. But I do trust the Vice President, though at least one poster does not, and apparently thinks that he had something to do with the assignment of Dr. Pena. Sara Carter has explained that quite well. I think that your second sentence is missing a word or two, it doesn’t make sense. THANKS
Pence didn’t choose his doctor, this nonsense has nothing to do with him.
Others on the VP shortlist included Christie , Gingrich, Rudy (who earned his clown nose this week), Flynn (good Lord), and perhaps only as a courtesy, Sessions. Pass, pass, hard pass, and in hindsight: pass. Those would have been mistakes.
John Kasich was reportedly offered it before the primaries were over, THAT would have been your George Bush moment. He turned it down, the Henry Clay mistake.
I think Pence was a solid choice to appeal to regular conservatives and I struggle to come up with a better choice other than Ted Cruz, who would have been a more controversial due to his own negatives and bad blood from the primary. My only criticism of Pence is that he’s too nice and prone to repeat silly establishment talking points like telling his kid “this is what democracy looks like” when the cast of “Hamilton” insulted him. He should ditch his old playbook.
Hard for me to believe that the VPOTUS cant choose his own doctor.
Either way, Pence is NOT the man for 2024. Neither is Cruz. They re both establishment career politicians which by definition means they are more interested in their own political future than America’s future.
No we will need another outsider in 2024, someone with an iron will, nerves of steel, and heavy asbestos armor to withstand the firestorm he will endure from the Savage Lying Left by leading the way to take down the 80% unconstitutional portion of the $4 trillion federal government. I hope the right guy emerges soon.
Remember our goal: MAGA by RESTORING OUR FREE CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC!
Time for Jackson to sue Pena for slander, or for Trump to reinstate Jackson’s nomination.
Saying he did select her, I still don’t see how her allegations against this other dude have anything to do with him.
“No we will need another outsider in 2024, someone with an iron will, nerves of steel, and heavy asbestos armor”
I feel you, but I don’t know who that person is. DT is a pretty unique character.
I don’t want Pence as POTUS but he’s been nothing but 100% supportive of Trump as far as I can see.....I’d imagine he had a talk with said Doctor and let her know her career, that she was willing to trash her betters in order to advance, just hit the skids.
If you'll remember, GHWBush was the same with Reagan who had nothing but praise for Bush's loyalty as VP. But once Bush got out from under Reagan, he showed his true socialist establishment colors with his "kinder, gentler" (Bush-ese for more government), "thousand points of light" (more meaningless nonsense), "read my lips" (but don't believe what he says), and finally, raising taxes (because government after all IS the answer, contrary to the foundation of Reagan's whole political career).
I see the same with Pence and we cannot afford a repeat - America hangs in the balance.
