I guess it is exciting being there and watching them run, but, meh.

As a long time horse guy, and rider of cutting horses, I can guarantee you that any competition involving three year old horses is a crapshoot. They are babies, the odds of the best horse winning is slim at best. It’s like having a pro football game with 4th graders. You never know what they are going to do.

The ones that win are often the most trainable, along with the best riders to guide their every movement. When they are five and six year olds, you can see the good ones rise to the top. It’s a gamblers dream.
