Thanks, Rod!
I was outside this very beautiful and cool morning planting my tomatoes!
175 plants with about 20 varieties; all grown from seed by myself.
I choose varieties that can withstand the heat and humidity but have exceptional taste. You won’t these babies in the grocery store!
Anyway, I’ve only got 40 or so planted so I got to go back to it. You and the others please keep an eye on things!
On the MAGA March on Washington, on Monday I will be calling for a meeting so we can start planning this out.
Stay tuned!
We did the same thing, put them in the ground and went on our Danube cruise. Came back and all had died from cold. It’s never been this cold so long in this part of SC. Husband was very sad and asked if we should have a funeral for the garden we will not have this year? We did find some replacements to plant, but it won’t be the wonderful ones he grew from scratch. Good luck with your garden.
175 plants!!! WOW...
175 Tomato plants? Do you know how many tomatoes you get from just ONE tomato plant???
Just kidding. I'm sorry the weather destroyed your lovingly produced plants. It did remind me of a story though.....
During the 'great exodus' from Detroit during the late 60s and early 70s, when forced busing of school children drove a million or so residents out of the city, we got new neighbors in our rural city. In the spring, the wife planted a large garden, with about the same number of tomato plants. The next fall, she was seen all over the neighborhood giving away grocery bags full of tomatoes. Her explanation? "I thought there were only two tomatoes from each plant!"
