New reports reveal a deadly wave of gun violence in Chicago. A 15-year old boy, a young mother, and even a four-year-old girl sitting on her porch have all been shot dead.

These are just a few of the nearly 40 people who were gunned down in Chicago over a mere three-day period this week.

This level of violence is usually not seen until the middle of summer in Chicago, but as temperatures reached into the 80’s this week criminals were drawn into the streets.

On Monday, one person was shot dead and nine others were wounded. A day later, 12 people were hit by gunfire in a 12-hour period.

However, Wednesday was the worst of all with at least 14 people shot in just nine-hours. This included a 15-year-old boy who was shot in the head while riding the bus home from school.

So in other words, this was just another normal Chicago weekend, with a few bonus shootings tossed in for good measure.

The nation cannot survive in its present form with so many of our cities becoming killing zones.

The nation in great part will survive and continue to get better. It's the major cities that are letting themselves be destroyed.

Let 'em. If this is what they want, give it to them. Maybe hitting rock bottom will obligate them to change some things. Consider it a "teachable moment".

For the answer to your question, just look at how black media completely flipped around on Kanye West this last week, as a result of his making some statements supportive of Trump. I actually believe that this is something of an important moment, not that I believe that many minds will be changed; but perhaps that very small percentage of seedlings have been planted.

My two sisters are visiting Chicago from Michigan. I’ll be glad when they return by Monday, hopefully unharmed.
I started to mention the high crime rate in Chicago, but if they still ‘don’t know’, then they just don’t want to know. I won’t be the one to rain on their parade. I am usually too blunt with my opinions.

California

- massive high school and middle school drop out rates
- highest taxes in the nation
- highest home costs in the nation
- highest cost of living in the nation
- water shortages / legislature does not address desalinization
- terrible business climate
- most regulations in the nation to start up a new business
- money wasted on things like bullet trains to nowhere
- Trump provides a tax cut, and California raises gas taxes

What do each of these things have in common?
