What McConnell did was invalid. There was no compliance with the Treaty Clause.

61% of Cognress voted against the Iran the deal. Obama did it by Executive fiat.

Don’t try to distract and deflect attention off the real authors of the disaster by manufacture a reason to whine about the GOP

You clowns are the best PR bots the DNC have with this idiotic habit

It wasn’t a treaty and PRESIDENT Trump doesn’t need the approval of Turtleman McConnell to withdraw from it.

The McConnell formula allowed Republicans to pass the Iran deal while pretending to oppose it. They could attack it in high dudgeon while safeguarding its passage.

Don't forget all but one Senator signed on to that scam. And don't forget the so called "constitutional conservative", Ted Cruz is as guilty as the rest.

Because of his vote on that Corker bill he should NEVER be considered for SCOTUS.

There is no binding Iranian Nuclear Deal and there never was.

This has been confirmed by Obama’s own State Department

Iran's governing body actually rejected the agreement and refused to ratify it , terming it an “insult” to Iran's sovereignty

All the deal did was provide President Obama political cover to end sanctions, release frozen Iranian assets and directly provide Iran with billions of dollars worth of untraceable hard currency

Question: Did the congress appropriate Obama’s $150 billion cash payment to Iran?

And speaking of Senate politics, although low-information USA voters undoubtedly don’t see it this way, they owned a piece of the Iran “deal” through the ill-conceived 17th Amendment (17A) imo.

Patriots need to work with their state lawmakers in supporting Pres. Trump to lead the states to repeal 17A.

The 16th Amendment can disappear too.

Whatever it took to help Obama and his minions.

That's what we thought back then, but now the question is "what were the Chinese to have gained by doing this?"

"McConnell CREATED the provision whereby two-thirds of the Senate would need to DISSAPROVE of the deal in order to PREVENT the deal from becoming effective.

Instead of the Constitutional provision whereby two-thirds of the Senate would need to APPROVE of a treaty before it could become effective."

Noting that it’s argued that the Iran deal was not a treaty, I agree that McConnell was using smoke and mirrors to give impression that Senate didn't want deal.

Regarding McConnell's two-thirds disapproval vote, please consider this. Although the Founding States constitutionally required Senate supermajority votes for specific things like treaty approval (2.2.2), the founders otherwise uniquely guaranteed each senator one vote which McConnell's smoke and mirrors trick wrongly ignored imo.

Again I suspect that McConnell wired the Iran deal vote so that the post-17th Amendment ratification Senate majority could claim that they didn’t support Iran deal even though they probably did. (Do it for Obama.)

Remember the Corker Amendment? It was used to push this harmful treaty.

This Bill

https://www.corker.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/iran-nuclear-agreement-review-act

“Allowed” Congressional review of any deal struck by Obama with Iran. It ALSO allowed any deal to go into effect unless voted down by Congress and signed by POTUS.

In effect, whatever Obama agreed to would go into effect unless there was a 2/3 majority (due to POTUS veto) in both the Senate and the House to overturn it.

It passed the Senate 99-1. And all 99 should be hung by the neck until dead. On the steps of the US Capitol.

When you see Republicans lining up to denounce the “Iran Deal”, just remember if they were in the Senate in 2005, they voted for this POS.

And, they are lying to you AGAIN.

The reality is that Obama was never going to present this to the Senate to be ratified as a treaty and McConnell knew it. This whole maneuver was simply a political ploy to get the Democrats on record in a vote for it to use against them in elections. It had no bearing one way or the other for this deal being reached and implemented.

The only way to have truly stopped this from occurring would have been to pass a bill prohibiting the action but Obama would have vetoed it so that makes it academic. There is really no recourse to force a President to present an executive agreement to the Senate as a treaty to be voted upon under the treaty rules set forth by the Constitution and the Court is unlikely to get involved in a treaty issue.

Of course this is also what allowed President Trump to easily get out of it...no treaty vote, not legally binding.

And so did Bob Corksucker, who is also now helping a Democrat to beat Marsha Blackburn for the seat that Corksucker is leaving.

McConnell is a backstabbing snake. Let righteousness arise in our government and among our people. “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people”. Proverbs 14:34
