Having had a relative who died from this gawdawful disease, there comes a time when you have to realize the cancer is talking, not a functioning brain. In McCain’s case, that hasn’t happened quite yet. He has been a sick puppy, mentally, for a long time.
My dad passed away from same form of cancer. Near the end, one day he seemed clear-headed, lucid, yet 12 days later, he was gone. It’s not the kind of life-ending state where one would be kept alive on a ventilator. But I’m not a doctor, so I couldn’t say for sure.
