He never campaigned...it was a just a fake pony-show deal to ensure Republicans showed to vote in local and state elections....nothing beyond that.
Looking back, the whole RNC created the 2008 primary with three fake candidates, and ensured that it looked legit....but it was totally fake from day one on. And I think their same agenda fell into play in 2016, with the hope of helping Hillary win, and it got messed up because Trump decided to run.
