I didn’t think this decision would stick.
It takes a lot of work to be a good cheerleader, from what I’ve seen. Just wanting to do it, is not enough.
I’m glad the team members and their parents are speaking up.
There are times when a meritocracy cannot be substituted.
Notice, no one school official’s name is being put on this wacky decision. So they are protecting somebody. Probably somebody who never made the team herself as a student.
Is this any different than race based preferential hiring for city fire departments? Its wrong for sure, but collectively our society seems to have accepted these practices.
