I’m not too sure of that. THEY were the ones whom has successfully pushed in a plethora of Socialism: ‘public’ education, income taxes, SS/MediXYZ, War on XYZ...The (R) has ALWAYS played defense (”Do you WANT to push grand-ma off the cliff and take away ABC?”).
They play the long game. Well. If they need fall upon the sword, they will. But it will ALWAYS be to advance ‘the Struggle’.
Just look at O’Care. Passed in dead of night, lost control of D.C. because...but it STILL remains.
The (R)N(C) have ever taken ground back to the start-line...NEVER have they gone to making up ground lost.
