Could be template for what Senate GOP wants to see from the president Senate GOP leaders might be smiling after President Donald Trump’s rally Thursday evening.
The raucous event in Elkhart, Indiana, saw Trump deliver one of his typical campaign trail stem-winders, with plenty of reminders about the midterm elections and the importance to the president of replacing Democratic Sen. Joe Donnelly in November.

It refers to men getting bored looking at their watches winding their (typically pocket) watch stems.
I know a watch having a stem is foreign to most people but they actually did have one.
Trump is finally in full campaign mode. He needs to make it permanent.
I believe a “Stem winder” is a rousing speech, a well accepted speech.
Elkhart County is solid GOP country; the county next door, St. Joseph, is run by some real leftist whack jobs, including South Bend mayor Pete Buttegieg, who is certifiably light in the loafers.
Sleepin’ Joe’s wife Jill is a college classmate of mine. When he was running for the House, he claimed to be pro-life, but when he got to DC, his first vote was for baby killing Nancy Pelosi. He failed in his obligations as a Catholic and a man. Shame on him.
