Some more..........

“John McCain is the single greatest political leader of our time. He is, in a way, not of our time, for his creed — country before self — is unfamiliar to many who serve in office and utterly foreign to the man in charge.

Only once during the nearly quarter of a century I’ve been covering politics did I think I could work for a politician, and that politician was McCain. I first got to know him in early 1999, when there were just a few of us driving around New Hampshire with him in an SUV, before the “Straight Talk Express” rolled. Had he beaten George W. Bush (he surely would have defeated Al Gore), and had he been president on Sept. 11, 2001, I know he would have done great things with the national unity Bush ultimately squandered.”

Another young-un.

“...his creed — country before self ...”
************************************
The writer is clearly thinking of a John McCain other than the self-centered Senator from Arizona.

I wonder how many see this for the true delusion, by 180° that it is? This level of delusion won’t just go away by itself. It cant. It will either become reality for all or it will have to be knocked out of them...

Sure. If McQueeg had been President in ‘01 (presuming he’d not have also played ringer for Manbearpig), there wouldn’t be much left of humanity today. He’d have fired all the nukes, and the rest of the world would’ve had to retaliate.

Then, of course, the Globaloney Warming nutters would have their sincerest wish of 95% of the population gone.

Millbank is a long time WaPo scribbler who is consistently left wing. This lamentable screed is an exercise in bathos. A descent from the sublime to the ridiculous.

I remember the Straight Talk Express. In 1999 or 2000, Juan was touring the US in it. The DC Chapter greeted it at that year’s WHCA Correspondent’s Dinner with chants of RINO! RINO!.

Juan, seated in the bus, thought he was being cheered on until a staffer told him otherwise.

< grin>

“His creed country before self”

I guess Dana doesn’t remember McCain’s involvement in the Keating Five scandal.

“country before self”

That is funny right there. JM is and has always been a media whore. Anything to get on TV. The jerk cares about on thing, and only one thing, John McCain.

(A) The libtards were blaming the victims of the WTC attack in short time, calling them little Eichmanns and saying that the US deserved it and even spinning outlandish tales that Bush “knew” (Hillary said this on the floor of the Senate in Feb 2002) and even planned it with Da Joooz.
(B) McVain wanted to go to war in Syria. We still would’ve gone to war someplace after 9-11.
(C) Al Gore Junior would’ve taken us to war in the wake of 9-11 too.
