TOLEDO, Ohio — Fresh off a victory in Ohio’s primary election, the Democratic nominee for the state’s top office is reaching out to supporters of outgoing Republican Gov. John Kasich, whose policies have alienated many GOP supporters in recent years.
Democrat Richard Cordray, who led the federal consumer protection bureau under President Barack Obama, pledged in a video his campaign released Friday that he’ll maintain Kasich’s expansion of Medicaid and the state’s privatized economic development office, which critics say lacks accountability.
“Gov. Kasich recently said he’s worried about two issues: Medicaid expansion and JobsOhio. So this message is for Ohioans who agree with Gov. Kasich - I am your candidate,” Cordray said.

Kasich envisions himself as being McCains replacement as GOP “pain in the ass”.
OTOH...DeWine may consider it a blessing Kasich not backing him.
He was my favorite when he looked more like Dennis the Menace. Anybody remember the late Robert Novak’s column with the headline suggesting Kasich was the NEXT great communicator? I was sold on him then. Age does wonders I might add.
Anytime a “Republican” becomes one of the Demonrats’ favorite Republicans, he/she becomes highly suspect.
Just become a democrat already, Kasich. Don’t even go through the Linc Chafee or Good Time Charlie Crist subterfuge of running as an “independent” first.
Very good point. Some endorsements are not always helpful.

I would say something about the people who keep voting for him and the McCain types, but after the way the election on my own state was stolen by the RINOs for a senile old coot (stolen from Chris McDaniel for Thad Cochran, blatantly using the dirtiest tactics possible, as if to tell us voters to go to hell), I have to wonder a little if Kasich and McCain were truly re-elected.
