Johnny Carson’s old Tonight Show is back on the air and is a far superior program, dated content and all, than this crap on now. I cannot tell where he stands on politics as he makes fun of people on both sides equally - and he’s making fun, not bashing them to score a political agenda.
It is on a network called Antenna TV which is an over the air broadcast station.
I watch it when I can and I find it still funny even if it is dated. Carson was basically a New Deal Democrat but you would never know it watching his show. His producer Fred De Cordova was a stanch Republican and a close friend of the Reagans but it did not bother Carson.
Carson rarely had any politicians on but if he did he was always respectful.
Last night I was watching and for some reason the Band was not there and Carson just ad libbed his way through things and it was funny. He talking to people in the audience and these two women wondered if he could get them into the Castle of Magic in LA. You have to be a member and Carson was having a lot of fun and told them to just give their names to a page and he would call and get them in. Now who today would do that????????
Carson was the master and I would rather watch him than Kimmel or Colbert.
