There is a form that is curable. Steve Jobs had it but did not act in time. Justice Ginsburg had it & was cured.

Merely an unindicted criminal thug.

I thought pancreatic cancer was not curable period.

In very rare instances people have made it. It's not hopeless. I think it depends on what kind it is.

It's usually mercifully quick.

My dad made it only 5 months.

And it was a nasty, brutal exit.

I lost my best friend to pancreatic cancer a few years back. She was 65....too young. Many good memories.

Both Harry and Juan should be buried in the same 55 gal drum, preferable, hugging each other like they did in Congress.

I guess it proves that there are ass*holes in both parties that are only interested in one person...themselves.

The amount of respect I have for both of these people would not fill a thimble. But Maybe Harry will take the high road and get on that exercise machine again for old times sake.

Jobs prolonged his life by undergoing a liver transplant, after his pancreas was removed.

There was considerable controversy as to how Jobs jumped to the top of the transplant list. He received a liver at Methodist Hospital in Memphis, shortly after going on the list. The hospital received a $40 million dollar anonymous donation after Jobs underwent his transplant, and it was later reporter that his surgeon bought the Memphis mansion (where Jobs recuperated) at a bargain price. He also lived there rent-free for two years before purchasing the house, and an Apple attorney paid his utilities during the period.

If I had Jobs’ resources, I would have done the same thing. Ironically, many cancer specialists believe Jobs would have lived even longer if he had placed less faith in natural remedies, and opted for more traditional treatment sooner. As it was, Jobs lived over seven years with the disease; most patients don’t last 12 months.

In my haste to post, I think I over stepped my borders. I wish Reid and McCain luck and no pain. Cancer in any form is a nasty disease. I hope that they have or will turn over their souls to God. His family needs prayers.

The guy is 78, retired just a year ago and now discovers he has pancreatic cancer. His whole life was essentially spent in politics - leftist politics at that. What a waste. Another argument to retire while one still has some health left to enjoy one’s last days with one’s family.

Pancreatic cancer is very nearly a death sentence, and presents with no symptoms. It’s the other organs who present with symptoms, and by then it’s too late. By the time it’s detected, the tumors have metastasized throughout the rest of the organs.

The Whipple Procedure only buys a little more time for the patient. I went thru it all (but cancer) Mar 23 - Apr 14 (23 days in-hospital, which almost killed me itself), 2017; plus 5 heart stents. Luckily, it was just acute pancreatitis , and gallbladder and benign poseudocysts being removed now.

I thought pancreatic cancer was not curable period.

There is a well known, several years survivor of pancreatic cancer named Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

I wish the former senator well in his recovery. And Chucky Schumcky makes me almost wish Harry was back in saddle.
