If this was indeed just a show trial it may have had nothing to do with Greitens himself - he had personal baggage to exploit and blow up into something and the leading opponent to McCaskill is Attorney General Josh Hawley - who’s office would have to get involved in any sort of an investigation of this magnitude into the governor and they knew this - therefore, they saw a grand opportunity to fracture the GOP down the middle and try to throw the race to McCaskill like they did last time by helping a bad candidate nominated. Without something like that, she would have no chance of winning - she was very unpopular the last time around but won in a landslide and they are trying another strategy to toxify her opposition in the eyes of the voters.

If we had an Attorney General worth a s—t, Soros would already be convicted of serious crimes, and extradited to a nation that wants to put him in prison for the rest of his life.

Greitens is like a candidate straight out of central casting. I hope he survives this inquisition with his reputation intact. Given his outstanding bio, there might be bigger things down the line waiting for him.

Hawley is an idiot, a RINO and a putz.

I think I’ll do a RINO thing to him and vote for McCaskill.

We’ve seen this too much. In Texas, Wisc., and other places. Liberal activist prosecutors file politically motivated bogus charges against conservative politicians, often based on their official acts and duties. We saw this in Texas against Gov. Perry where they just made up a bogus charge which was ultimately thrown out but only after months of publicity. They do this just to smear the Republican. There a reason Soros is involved in more prosecutor elections than any other office.
