Is “fell off a Humvee” the same as “it fell off a truck”.

They bounce that stuff off tailgates all the time.

Usually in restricted areas.

They do have a bowling alley in Shemya, good fishing and its daylight when the bar closes.

Plus you can see Sarah Palins house from there..

The Corps of Engineers site engineer claimed to have identified 48 or so to the 54 wildflowers native to Shemya in the mid 70s. I was there for a few weeks in April. Didn’t identify any wildflowers.

Imagine the ammo cost. What I always think of with full auto weapons:

I cannot afford to operate one.

Hopefully the guy mowing the ditches doesn’t find them the hard way.

As an aside, years ago, we picked up hundreds of oil field shaped charges and blasting caps spilled out all over an interstate highway after someone forgot to latch the trailer door.

And I know guys that volunteered LOL

Back in 1980 a new Captain I knew was ending his four-year tour on Missile Combat Crew and wanted out of missiles entirely. Back then the AF didn't give missileers much room for leaving the field so he took whatever he could get and became the Transportation Officer at Shemya. I saw him again in 1983 and he was happy and the Chief of Safety for a large MAC base down south.

He not only made it out of missiles but retired as a LtCol, and he did it by volunteering for duty at Shemya.

The convoy commander in that trip has no future in the military now. Likely his NCOIC, Sergeant in charge, as well.

Midway is closed. Does the USAF still have a base in Thule, Greenland?

And it is a SAC base so we know how demanding they
are. They’ll probably get busted and spend their careers humping priority C aircraft.

“I assume these grenades are shipped unarmed, but arm or “fuse” themselves in flight, after the propellant is ignited?? Does anyone know for sure?”

Spin to arm after leaving barrel.
