MSNBC reporter Andrea Mitchell said it was "appalling" that the U.S. moved its Israeli embassy to Jerusalem without obtaining any concessions from Israel.
Mitchell expressed astonishment at the Trump administration placing the blame for violence solely on Hamas, who instigated riots along the border in Gaza. White House principal deputy press secretary Raj Shah on Monday did not call for Israel to soften its response to the riots, leading Mitchell to decry the administrations support for Israel.
"I've never seen anything like that," Mitchell said. "Even the strongest supporters of Israel in administrations Republican and Democratic would at that point say, Be proportional and be cautionary."
She blamed Israels actions on their empowerment due to closeness with the administration, specifically on Iran.
"There was no restraint," Mitchell said. "Israel is now so empowered because of the administration's enmity with Iran that they now feel, clearly, that they can do anything."
She opined that it was "appalling" that the U.S. moved its embassy to Jerusalem without extracting concessions from Israel on its settlement-building.
"It's just to me appalling that we have no vision at all, we got nothing for it, no pullback on settlements. There's no balancing act here," Mitchell said.
How Andrea misses Obama and his love for Iran and hatred for Israel. It is true for Andrea, once she went black, she never came back...
By “vision” they mean “get the Israeli’s out of Israel”.
Most of Europe views Israel as a colony, and hence a “bad thing.” That is the disconnect. Trump moving the embassy to Jerusalem acknowledges that the US considers Jerusalem as part of Israel. Most of the EU views it as illegally occupied territory.
No I am not a fan of using troops as police. I think Israel is hurting themselves in their response to this issue. However, it is not my circus so I will happily assume they (Israel) has more facts than I do and is acting appropriately.
Why does she or anyone else give a crap about where the embassy is? If it is closer to the seat of government then that makes it logical.
If the gop-e were smart, they’d be highlighting the anti-Semitism that exists in the dimocrat party.
Andrea, you ignorant slut...
Rummyfan finds Andrea Mitchell appalling and wonders how she manages to keep a gig on cable news at all.
Using troops to repel a coordinated attack is perfectly appropriate.
Rummyfan knows better, cable news is infested with Left Wing activists who pretend to be journalists - she fits the mold.
She should have been fired for praising Fidel Castro after his death.
I don’t think it would make a difference. The vast majority of American Jews are going to vote for Democrats no matter what.
Indeed it is.
The trick though is determine what response is needed. As I said, I’m assuming that the Israeli’s have a better idea of what is going on then the news media.
Gaza is the enemy. Andrea is the enemy by association.
Enemies get kicked before they get carrots
“Appalling” that a politician actually did what he promised he would do (unlike Clinton, Bush 43 and Obama). Didn’t Trump read the politician’s handbook?
Exactly. Gaza and the Palestinians are Sand Nazi’s. They accomplish nothing without violence and have demonstrated zero ability to manage the land and resources they have. All the while they blame the Jews. The land they have is surrounded by fertile, crop producing areas. There land is strewn with garbage and desolate.
Choices. Live in the stone age with your stone age ideas....and suffer.
You are not a “fan” of Israel.
Neither is Andrea Mitchell.
BINGO!
The media lie by describing these acts by Hamas as “protests”. They are attacks, perpetrated by people who routinely lob missiles at Israeli civilians.
BUMP!
And that is how modern reporters "report" the news.
