A Democratic congressional candidate from the state of New Mexico, Pat Davis has found himself in the national spotlight for his viral "**** the NRA" advertisement. Davis is getting even more attention for his interview with Fox News' Tucker Carlson on Tuesday night over another one of his controversial, and false, advertisements where he claims an AR-15 can fire 150 rounds in 15 seconds.

But Pat Davis' controversial gun control advertisements aren't the only controversial thing about the candidate and current Albuquerque city councilor.

In 2013, while chairman of the Albuquerque Metro Crime Stoppers, Pat Davis was arrested on an aggravated DWI charge, where he blew a .16, twice the legal limit.

Agreed. I observe folks continuously when outin public. Saw a guy putting chnge into a change counter at Walmart yesterday. Wearinga dark t shirt untucked, muzzle of a large caliber handgun protruding while he leaned over. Duty type trousers, spare mag hanging out of a mag pocket, unlaced tac boots. completely oblivious that I was examining him in minute detail. When he was done, I smiled and told him is sidearm was sowing and he responded that he was alocal cop. I smiled and we chatted a bit. He asked if I was LE, I said no, just a private citizen. He said you must know firearms ( I had told him his 1911 was showing) but i was wrong- he was wearing a SIG P220 ( dust cover and muzzle looks much like a 1911 front end).

He asked if I carry and I responded “are you asking as a police officer or a casual passerby?” He said casual passerby-I responded “ then its none of your business if I am or not”. He smiled and said “good answer”.

He looked like a middle aged, overweight out of shape guy who probably did a decent job of LE, but he looked like a target to me. He asked me if I was active duty military ( I look that young, and fit, but the gray beard should have given him a clue), I said “no, just retired type of guy. He said he was carrying his SIG because he had to qualify with it soon, that he had not shot it in some time and he missed his compact 9mm.

I thought “what a guy, carry a firearm he had not shot in some time, with a long DA 1st trigger pull and all”. I asked what his compact 9mm was- he said a Springfield XD- which has a striker fired mechanism, so much different than his SIG to be in another dimension. I was glad we did not need to use our sidearms.

They indeed walk among us, and have the full force of a badge and government behind them.

You are right. In the real world, 150 rounds in 15 seconds, even if possible, just isn’t going to happen.
