Not as false as people would like to think.
There are many videos on YouTube showing AR-15s equipped with bump-stocks are entirely capable of dumping 150 rounds in 15 seconds. At least I've seen them dump 30 rounds in just under 3 seconds, and dump 100 rounds in about 10 seconds.
Yeah, even with just the selector on fully semi auto, I can dump 30 rounds in that time frame no problem. Maybe the meant in “spray fire” mode that difi refers to. Also known as “garden hose” mode.
Yes, but 150 rounds takes a mag change (or several, depending upon how large they are). You haven’t taken that into consideration.
Here is the big question, is Jerry Miculek faster than a bump stock?
No, will not approach 10 rounds per second. An M-16 on full auto won’t.
Anybody telling you that it will is lying or doesn’t understand what they are talking about.
An simi-auto AR fired by squeezing the trigger might give around 25 aimed rounds per minute.
If there was a full auto AR (there is not) a maximum cycle rate would be about 750 rounds per minute. And it dependent upon the loading of the cartridge and barrel length. And barrel heating limits how long you can hold the trigger down without having issues. M-16’s are seldom fired longer than bursts because of that.
The bump stock mechanism, now outlawed, will probably not exceed 200 rounds per minute. I heard during the Las Vagas attack what I thought was a heavy machine gun, turns out it was not. The feed rate on the bump stock makes it sound like the heavy machine gun cycle rate.
Well, an Olympic-class sprinter can run a mile in about 4 minutes, so by your logic, he should be able to run a hundred miles in 400 minutes, right?
