Days after Carter Page’s high-profile trip to Moscow in July 2016, the Trump campaign adviser had his first encounter with Stefan Halper, a University of Cambridge professor with CIA and MI6 contacts.
The conversation seemed innocent enough, Page tells The Daily Caller News Foundation. He recalls nothing of substance being discussed other than Halper’s passing mention that he knew then-campaign chairman Paul Manafort. But the interaction was one of many that the pair would have over the next 14 months, through a period of time when Page was under the watchful eye of the U.S. government.
Their relationship included a number of in-person meetings, including at Halper’s farm in Virginia.

I think that Carter Page, George Popadopoulos and others were Democrat Party/FBI operatives inserted into the Trump campaign. The whole Russia story along with the fraudulent dossier were created to frame Trump and his campaign and destroy Trump's presidency.
Seems plausible, but then why did George Popadopoulos plead guilty to a felony?
Even I find it hard to imagine that someone like Trump who spent his life in NYC Real Estate didn't have some sort of mob ties or dealings that could have been exploited by the opposition. But apparently that is the case, otherwise we would have heard all about it long before now.
Maybe the Russian Collusion story was the insurance policy?
I’m still betting on Halper.
CIA then got the info to GWB and then the Bush Family went all NeverTrump.
Logical, closes some holes and easy to connect and verify.

Interesting. But what is the “exclusive” part of that article?

There was no reason for this 26 year old to move to London and volunteer for an unpaid low level spot in a group advising the Trump campaign. There was no plausible reason for him to meet Australian Clinton foundation operative Downer in a bar in London and talk about Russians having files on Clinton that he could not possibly have seen.
I read on here that he was enticed with a plane ticket and a $3000 payment.

He was given that by Democrat Party/Deep State operatives. He was probably paid more, but they got him to London so he could repeat the false story about Russians having Clinton emails.
I don’t know if the same rules to the CIA apply but this was an obvious attempt at entrapment.
I agree that Papadopoulos was a patsy, but no more.
Case in point: No need for the charade by which he was introduced to Downer. Furthermore, no need to “disappear” Professor Joseph Mifsud or, for that matter any need to orchestrate via Halper.
If this ‘op’ had been run professionally, I might concede that they pulled him out by charging him.
But this ‘op’ was a hack from start to finish. There are probably so many foreign moles - Russian, Chinese and more - in our security services and government that nothing at all is secret and we’re all being played.
Thus, if this ‘op’ was genuinely intended to destabilize our government, then the Russians wouldn’t look like the heroes for exposing it.
If you look carefully at what team Zero wanted to do, they came very close to accomplishing it by (IMHO) setting up Hillary and this whole charade. Thus, there was no need for any moles within the campaign if all that was necessary was to ensnare them. Besides, the WH remains a sieve of leaks.
Another case-in-point: We still don’t know who Imran Awan was working for.

ITEM——Hillary Clinton ran in the 2008 and 2016 democratic primaries----and in the 2016 general election.
ITEM——S/C Mueller “uncovered” that the "Russian collusion scheme" apparently (cough) "materialized" sometime in 2014.
Now, here’s the $64,000 question not addressed———
Why didn’t the CIA or the NSA or the FBI pick this up?
Were Obama’s PDB’s falsified? CIA-Brennan got outed as calculatedly working the phony "pee dossier" into Obama's PDB.
Dates are important b/c Snowden’s’ revelations indicate Obama’s government spying apparatus began capturing all electronic data on Americans in 2001.
The Obama police state succeeded in mastering the capture of all keystrokes, telephone calls and digital traffic by 2005.
This we know:

<><> (B) the CIA keeps constant tabs on Russian spies in Russia....... and elsewhere.
