EXCLUSIVE: Mueller agrees to narrow scope of questions in bid to interview Trump

Rudy Giuliani, President Trump’s lawyer, says that special counsel Robert Mueller has agreed to avoid a “fishing” expedition by narrowing the subject of questions in an effort to get the president to submit to an interview with the prosecutor.

Mr. Giuliani also says he thinks fired FBI Director James Comey is “not going to be worth anything as a witness” and thus less a threat to the president.

Mr. Giuliani told The Washington Times that Mr. Mueller’s team displayed a “first good faith effort” during a Wednesday meeting that might result in an interview in July and a final Mueller report by Labor Day.

Mueller may be indicted himself for his corruption. President Trump shouldn’t get near the Swamp slime.

I don’t think Trump should do it. Otoh, Mueller holds all the cards. He’s running a lucrative con with unlimited scope and unlimited budget. He’s systematically destroying the reputations and finances of Trump’s supporters and associates. There’s no one to rein him in. He’ll just keep the scam going indefinitely if it suits him.

The alternative is to give him a limited interview in exchange for a commitment to end the investigation. There are no good options. We have Sessions to thank for that.

I believe that Mueller is looking for a way out. All this investigation has done is implicate most of Obama’s team. With the focus moving to the democrats, I believe maybe a truce is brewing to forget the whole thing “for the sake of the country

. Mueller will write a report stating that no evidence was found proving any Trump party improprieties. Inspection will be shut down with the understanding that Mueller's investigation is definitive and no further investigation will take place. (republican or democrats)

Rudy seems to be playing a dangerous game with Mueller.

Trump: Hot weather we’re having.

Mueller: We are actually 2° below average for May. Perjury is a serious crime.”

I am not sure why Trump and Giuliani would even entertain the idea of Trump testifying. It is a bad idea.

Mueller does not get it. It is time for him to stop or end up like Schneiderman.

Get all the questions in writing beforehand, and on the day of the “interview” submit answers to twitter and say you can’t make the “interview” because of a scheduling problem.

If he does consider it I think I know why:

...that might result in an interview in July and a final Mueller report by Labor Day.

The "final report by Labor Day" is the key. That's 3 September. That could be a way for Mueller to make a soft landing. It could also be a perfectly timed ambush prior to the election. But Mueller has to know he's past his sell-by date already and that everything coming out now is not to his or the Dems' advantage, and is definitely trending toward real criminal charges on the perpetrators of this elaborate fiasco. So does Deep State cut their losses? Or shoot for a major gaffe? Or cut their losses if the gaffe doesn't materialize?

Tough call. The trending at the moment is definitely in Trump's direction, but there isn't any resolution in sight and it's sucking up resources that might better be spent elsewhere, such as budget, immigration, foreign policy, etc. The media don't care, they'd as soon pound the drum indefinitely because it isn't costing them anything and the sensation is selling commercial time. Deep State has to consider prison time for people who used to think themselves invulnerable.

Those strike me as the salient factors, and obviously the principals know a heck of a lot more than I can even speculate on. But if Trump does go for it, in writing perhaps and with counsel riding shotgun, that'd be why. But what the hell do I know...

I agree with what you are saying, to a point, but I suspect the cat is already out of the bag. Joe Digenova hinted tonight on Tucker Carlson that deep state scumbag & ex-CIA chief Brennan will soon be before a Grand Jury.

First Mueller needs to provide a report on the total history of the basis RosenWeasel used to appoint a SC and how it may actually be legal and ethical.

Dershowitz should grade the report. If not an A+ and an actual legal and ethical foundation for the witch hunt, Trump should fire Weasel Mueller and RosenWeasel.

Mueller's hand has gotten very weak in the last 2-3 weeks, and it has nothing to do with Trump.

The criminal cases he's already prosecuting are not going to go well for him, and I'm sure he knows this. He'll probably put Manafort away for a long time, but that guy is so sleazy it's almost like a Little League prosecution. Flynn's plea deal may be overturned in embarrassing fashion (Flynn may end up on solid legal grounds to sue the DOJ for prosecutorial misconduct). And the "Russian interference" case against the 13 Russian defendants has turned into a comedy of errors in a Federal courtroom.

The minute I heard that Rudy was going to be a part of the legal team, I thought he better watch that he doesn’t also get sucked into this quicksand.

Rudy said ‘This will be wrapped up in a week or two!”. That was almost ONE MONTH AGO!
