So what stopped you or kept you from hurting people?
My family raised me to understand that acting out vis-à-vis such emotions would have been both wrong and unforgiveable. If that sounds simplistic, sorry.
In my case, being the 2nd smallest guy in my high school class (and maybe the 2nd smallest male in the whole HS until I was a junior), I befriended the center on the basketball team, the starting power forward, the strongest, toughest guy on the football team, the co-captain of the wrestling team, and a couple other such fellows. A couple I helped with schoolwork.
That worked pretty well!
