Who is the man or woman behind Sessions? The answer to that question might help to figure out some of the pieces of the puzzle.

Jeff Sessions pretends to play stupid. Unless he has Alzheimer's disease, he can't really be so stupid as to not see the maelstrom around him.

Bannon, Preibus, Sessions himself.

The Sessions pick has been a disaster. Lost a senate seat, lost the chance to fight in these court challenges which the Trump team has been terrible at, and handed the Russia collusion coup into the hands of the coup itself.

So, I agree with you.

Sessions is thin-skinned and still seething that Trump (rightly) was beyond angry regarding Session's recusal stunt. He was a meanie to poor Jeff.

Sessions is willing to play along with the coup because he wants his revenge against Trump, the country be damned.

“Jeff Sessions pretends to play stupid.”

Just like Roberts & Gowdy & everybody else, Sessions has a little boy or little girl problem somewhere.

Adultery isn’t enough these days, it has to be MORE.

OR ...... it’s 4D chess!

I heard it was the Federalist Institute that pushed Rosenstein. I have not verified. That might be a clue.

My guess: They are Neocon globalist pro-Bush anti-Trump treachers.

“President Trump did not come up with the idea to hire Sessions out of thin air.”

I think he kind-of did. When Sessions was the first big-name DC hotshot to support him, I think he had a pretty good idea of how to repay Sessions. Sadly, Sessions could’ve been a swamp plant to keep an eye on the campaign from the git-go. A snake in the grass from Day One.

“President Trump did not come up with the idea to hire Sessions out of thin air.
“Somebody pitched or lobbied for Sessions.
“Who was the person who sold Sessions to the President?”

No one had to pitch him. Trump did it himself. For a very long time Sessions was the first and only major elected Republican to openly support him, standing next to Trump from the first rally when every other Republican thought it was the kiss of death. And before being elected to the Senate Sessions had been the attorney general of Alabama. He knows how to do the job, and that doesn’t include issuing press releases to satisfy everyone’s impatient curiosity.
