He’s right. If we’d just pass universal background checks, ban assault weapons, maybe even mandate gun registration, we’d prolly never have any more gun violence. We got to do something!!!!/s
His ideas deserve a test. Start by disarming the Houston cops, and give that a 5 year trial to see how it works out for them.
Clearly he has lost objectivity in the matter and needs to be removed from authority.

Comments like his make me think of how Detroit’s current chief apparently went under a conversion from Californiaesque views on guns to wanting to allow law abiding citizens in Detroit to carry because he spent time in Maine or New Hampshire and saw casual gun control laws accompanied by very low crime rates.
Our society raises violent and entitled millenials; and, when they go berzerk, the left’s response is to take away the guns of law abiding, concientious citizens. No — they need to get their rotten kids under control.

Since the Police Chief has a great deal of influence on the priority of enforcing laws, his political views are of great importance.
Having a Police Chief and DA who are hostile to the Second Amendment often puts individuals who are involved in a "use of force" incident at risk of civil lawsuits.
I have always been a believer in “PEACE THROUGH SUPERIOR FIREPOWER”, it would seem that this applies to schools also.
While Arthur the Asshole was chief of Austin PD, he made one statement that could be interpreted as encouraging swatting gun owners. HPD rank and file do NOT like Arthur the Asshole. He is strictly a political appointee. As a peace officer he is worthless.
