The 17-year-old suspect in Friday's shooting at a Texas high school killed a classmate who turned down his repeated advances, killing her first in his deadly rampage that also killed nine others, according to the girl's mother.
Student Shana Fisher's mother told the LA Times that junior Dimitrios Pagourtzis gave her daughter "4 months of problems" before Fisher rejected him publicly in front of classmates.
"A week later he opens fire on everyone he didn't like," she wrote to the newspaper. "Shana being the first one."

Last week’s news said that he’d been bullied by some students and even some teachers (maybe the coach for stinking).
Doesn’t excuse his murder campaign.
And while he specifically did not shoot people that he liked (a detail that is now surfacing), he’d planted some bombs and those kill indiscriminately so if they’d gone off, everyone’s life was at potential risk.
Going by the original Reddit definition of incel, I would say no.
He had an ex-girlfriend, incels are too timid to even ask a girl out in most cases. Also, the word incel is just a derogatory description of a shy, ackward, and unattractive guy. The term is an empowerment mechanism, especially with the emphasis on the virgin stigma.
In my opinion, we need more emphasis on teenagers and young adults maintaining their purity, rather than promoting behaviors that make fun of kids who are virgins.
He’s 17, last week’s reports said that he’s ineligible for the death penalty.
But as society opens up to voluntary suicide (euthanasia on demand even when you are not at end of life or suffering from a terminal condition), perhaps those in prison for lif sentences will be able to opt for the needle anyhow.
And those drug manufacturers who have no problems with their death drugs being used for euthanasia may still find them being used in prisons after all (they’ve been refusing to bake the cake for death row).

As a man I agree. I got my wake up 19 years ago pushing my twin daughters to the check-out lane one Christmas. I drew in my stomach a bit as I approached the cute, young check-out gal. “Oh - how darling!!! Are you their Grandfather!”
Sigh, as my stomach relaxed.
Of course, after 20 years those delusions remain!
I think this whole approach is a bit off topic. Teen boys can be jerks, teen girls can be jerks. It doesn't mean that people deserve to be killed over it. As a kid - sure I wanted to exact revenge on other kids. I would make up all sorts of plans. (Bombs thrown through their bedroom windows was usually at the top of the list). Never did act on any of them.
Not to say that spontaneous reactions to a slight never happened - but those were usually with a lot of pushing and shoving. Well - a length of pipe once - but I was on the receiving end of that. (Yes - he was one I dreamt of tossing a bomb through his window).
What restrained me was some sense of God, and that it was wrong. Also that I would get in a heck of a lot of trouble from my old man.
I think that is why this evil stuff happens so much these days. Kids have NO sense of Godly right and wrong, and the idea of guilt; and also parents that don't teach their kids right and wrong, with discipline being one of the forms of teaching it.

There's been a few comments questioning why these mass shootings never happen at urban schools. One explanation among many others could include that black boys are allowed to retain their masculinity. They're allowed to swagger, catcall, boast, and fight, use homophobic slurs, and celebrate toughness. White boys are expected to be crying, feminized pussies.
