I used to think my 32 year old son was a leftist. As he has experienced life he has slowly grown to be very conservative as far as personal respns8bility is concerned and in some other areas yet he still remains what I would call culturally liberal. He likes West though so hopefully the cultural aspect can be changed too
That old saw about “If you’re not a liberal at 18, you don’t have a heart, if you’re not a conservative at 40, you don’t have a brain” is largely true. I try to give young people a bit of a break.
However, when they enter the world of activism (the preferred source by the Left for new activists because young people are easily swayed) they lose that forbearance from me.
But I agree, it is a win-win.
Kayne is a ‘thinker’ he may not be a ‘conservative’ but at least he open to conversations.
However, if the Left comes hard after Dr. Sowell because of West, we have a REAL problem. Dr Sowell is a national treasure.
Let’s hope it does have that effect. Anything that can free black culture from the poisonous grip of the hip-hop, toxic black culture that holds sway now is vital, because they will never advance until they break free of the “Liberal Plantation”.
And I do worry.

Heh, that ship has sailed...they don't send anyone after him anymore, after he figuratively sends their head back in a box!

That said, Kayne West is a black American, and while the extent of his cultural sway in the black community is open to debate, it is true that someone with 28 million followers on Twitter is, by today's standards, and worthy person to have saying positive conservative things in a public forum a real win. Whether he is a conservative or not isn't really at issue...it is that he respects people with conservative values (such as Thomas Sowell and Candace Owens) and said so in a very public way, and not only that, didn't fold like a cheap suit when he was attacked. I do believe it is a positive development.
The President does not need the support of all aAfricans. He needs West to be of assistance in convinceing perhaps only 15% of black voters to see the MAGA light.
Twenty eight million is a large number. I would doubt most of them vote.
However, West has done the left great harm with his promotion of MAGA
This is a classic example of liberals redefining words and using bailey and motte arguments.
Racist is someone who is bigoted against people for their race. Classic definition.
Liberals’ second definition - someone who isn’t liberal, used as slur because classic racism is condemned in our society.
Liberals then call everyone who disagrees with them as a racist, relying on the horror tied to the real definition to lead to slander and abuse of those guilty of wrong-think. And they’ll argue both definitions of a word, whichever wins them the current argument.
It is similar to liberals saying we’re love so you’re hate. Anyone angry, upset, offended is just a crazy evil hater. And someone rationally disagreeing with a liberal is an evil hater, because by liberals’ own definition, everyone else is “hate”. And as a bonus, all contrary views can be banned under hate speech.
Absolutely...as Bill Whittle states...the left is banking on 80-90% of the black vote...if they only get 60-70%...other things being equal...they are finished.
Yep. You described their deliberate tactic to cow conservatives or anyone on their side who disagrees with them.
They have used it to great effect...but Trump seems immune to it...which is a source of great delight for many of us!
