He killed because he was bullied.

Just like Parkland killer was bullied.

We’re not paying enough attention to marginal and alienated kids.

The next shooting is only a matter of time somewhere and not just some kid wants to become a copycat killer.

Then there is the Andy Warhol 15 minutes fame thing - its a telling commentary the only time in their lives any one pays them attention is when they commit a deadly rampage.

Even more is that the anti gun activists will say that he deserved to be bullied because he became a murderer later.

>> We’re not paying enough attention to marginal and alienated kids.

Just finished a two-day course on trauma and victimization funded by the DoJ. Good course; the anecdotes from the instructors and students really brought the material home. Here’s one:

New third grade teacher (8-9 years of age) - just out of college and in his first months of work - lets the kids out for recess when his mentor gives him a chalkboard assignment: “Make a list of all your students. 24 kids in class; he lists 17 of them and then gets stuck. He had listed the troublemakers first (duh!), then the good students.

The mentor then asked “What about the other 7?” He answered “They’re pretty much invisible.” “Exactly”, said the mentor, “and they’re the most at-risk kids of the whole bunch.”

“It’s your job to draw them in; to complement them when they do something positive. Considering the sh!t they have to deal with at home, you may be THE only person in their life who cares. You could make an impact that lasts the rest of their lives.”

I was bullied in grade school; beat up, taunted, called four eyes, bucked tooth, metal mouth, bike wreaked and thrown into a swamp, stepped on, etc. I had 90 lb. weakling syndrome.

Never was on any drugs. I would have liked to beat the crap out of the bullies, but never wanted to kill anyone. As time passed, most of those bullies ended up in jail and most are dead now 40 years later. If I want to get back at them I could piss on their graves, but I have better things to do.
