VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - A 10-year San Diego Sheriff's Department employee has been arrested for groping a 14-year-old girl at a North County restaurant this year.
Timothy Wilson Jr., a 32-year-old Vista detention center deputy, was arrested Friday and charged with one count of felony lewd act on a child for the March 21 incident. Wilson is accused of groping a 14-year-old girl waiting in line at the Panda Express at 20 Main Street.
Another San Diego Sheriff's Department employee recognized Wilson in surveillance footage from the restaurant released this month and reported him to investigators, according to San Diego Sheriff Bill Gore.
After reviewing the footage and conducting witness interviews, the department arrested Wilson and placed him on unpaid administrative leave, Gore added.
"I am deeply disappointed with Mr. Wilson's conduct but proud of the men and women of this department who do not tolerate criminal acts in the community or within their own ranks," Gore said.
Deputies are now in the process of conducting a thorough investigation.

He was just identifying as a female teacher, so he should not be charged.
unless he has early-onset Alzheimer’s or some other brain disease, or (without seeing the footage) there is some other special cricumstance, it will be very unlikely it is the first time that he has indulged in this sort of behaviour...imho
I remember a gag book my Dad’s cousin gave us when I was a kid, called “How to Be an Italian” (my Dad was Italian).

Too bad he didn’t shoot her. An internal investigation would find it justified.
The video doesn’t really show contact. You can see him reach out, then pull away and hurry out the door.
Whoever pointed him out has broken the blue code, and will be receiving death threats soon.

Or maybe he has done this dozens or even hundreds of times and finally got caught.

You’re kidding. It’s terrific news that a scumbag cop outed himself and will face criminal charges. The citizens of SD are better off now.
The girl said she he grabbed her butt then ran away. The guy acted guilty as hell.
We can’t determine his guilt or innocence from a judicial standpoint, but we can make reasonable judgements as to whether the guy did it or not.
I’d bet the rent he did exactly what the girl said he did.
