Pope Francis tells gay man ‘God made you like this and loves you like this’
thesun.co.uk ^ | 5-21-2018 | Sofia Petkar

In a private dialogue, the Pontiff is understood to have told Juan Carlos Cruz, a victim of sexual abuse at the hands of Catholic priests, that God loves gay people and it is fine to be homosexual.

The comments are the most striking public acceptance about homosexuality ever made by a head of the Roman Catholic Church.

The remarks were made during a private meeting at the Vatican between the pair, in which the Pope offered a heartfelt apology.

Cruz was a victim of Chile’s most notorious paedophile priest Fernando Karadima.

Father Karadima, now aged 87, was found guilty of sexual abuse by the Vatican in 2011.

Cruz claims that his suffering was ignored by a number of Latin American bishops who used his homosexuality to brand him a liar when he spoke out.

Speaking to Spanish newspaper El País, Cruz said: “He [the Pope] told me, ‘Juan Carlos, that you are gay does not matter.

“God made you like this and loves you like this and I don’t care.

“The pope loves you like this. You have to be happy with who you are.”

The Pope’s words signal a much more open and inclusive approach by the often restrictive faith – a move which will likely upset many conservative Catholics.

The Vatican has neither confirmed nor denied the comments the Pontiff’s comments to Cruz.

Francis is the best example yet why Papal succession should only be upon the death of the previous Pope.

Is there no way that they can reverse their decision to install this left wing community activist as head of the Holy see? Pope Benedict is still breathing... Can they not hand it back to him, or at least have a new Pope elected once he passes on?

He is going to change the RC Church for a long time. He just promised to cram in 14 new Cardinals who will choose the next Pope.

I don’t know, sounds fishy to me, right from the first line:

“In a private dialogue, the Pontiff ****is understood to have told...…”

that sounds like made up crap by the press to make it appears as if the pope actually said it.

God made me with many flaws and temptations. He also made me with the free will to choose whether I yield to those weaknesses. Whether I am successful or not in resisting, God does love me. However, in no way should God’s infinite love be mistaken for approval/celebration of those actions that violate scriptural guidance.

My reactions to moments of weakness in myself vary from shame to disappointment, but they never include pride. I know, with 100% certainty, that Go’s word contains the right answers for my life. What kind of person takes pride in having chosen unwisely?

Yes, we were all created by God, but God did not make us sinners. We chose sinfullness or holiness.

Yes God loves us in spite of our sins, but our sins cause us problems and turn us away from God.

May we return the love to God and Keep His commandments.

From “objective disorder” to 100% perfectly in accordance with human nature—as natural as hetero.
The pope has broken with established Church teachings.

No, God did not.

Why have a Pope or a Church if the answers to bad behaviors and violations of God’s commandments it that God made us so anything we do is OK.

No need for the Catholic church because God made us the way were are. No need to learn to do better.

I am done with the Roman Catholic Church.

I refuse to recognize this demon as the representative of God on earth.

He is corrupt and evil...his remarks have set the Church back hundreds of years.

Rather than confronting and damning the activities of homosexual and child molesting priests, he instead explains away the motives, encourages acceptance and alternately ridicules and praises both the victim and the perverts.

Satan has donned the robes and he walks this earth in the form of this man.

Again, I am done with the Catholic Church.

God did NOT make any man or woman homosexual...that is a temptation placed before them by Satan, and God will not forsake those that call upon Him, demonstrating his undying love for the sinner, but He rejects the sin and at no time has placed this Pope in a position to mitigate or excuse the sin.

And the failure of this "Pope" to tell that to the world is simply astounding.

He is false.

Cardinal Burke has his number.

This can’t end soon enough. The Pope has placed his ideology above his faith.
