DoJ Confirms IG Will Probe "Impropriety, Political Motivation" Of Obama FBI Spying On Trump

Update: Just a few hours after President Trump "hereby demanded" that the DoJ investigate whether or not the "FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump campaign for Political Purposes," Axios' Jonathan Swan reports that Justice has confirmed a probe has begun. DoJ's Sarah Isgur Flores:

 "The Department has asked the Inspector General to expand the ongoing review of the FISA application process to include determining whether there was any impropriety or political motivation in how the FBI conducted its counterintelligence investigation of persons suspected of involvement with the Russian agents who interfered in the 2016 presidential election.

As always, the Inspector General will consult with the appropriate U.S. Attorney if there is any evidence of potential criminal conduct."

The Deputy Attorney General issued the following statement:

 “If anyone did infiltrate or surveil participants in a presidential campaign for inappropriate purposes, we need to know about it and take appropriate action.”

The liberal media is in full panic, meltdown mode, exclaiming that Trump has "interfered" with the investigation...

 There it is. He has finally crossed the red line and ordered up a DOJ investigation of his political opponents, as well as career law enforcement agents. Moment of truth for Rosenstein and Sessions and moment of danger for the country. https://t.co/LE8P0AmNDq — Matthew Miller (@matthewamiller)

Sham. IG has no authority to interrogate anyone not currently employed by the DoJ. Comey, Yates, Brennan, Clipper etc all skate.

I guess it is ok for the left to have unlimited and untethered investigations over this phony Russian collusion cr@p. But as soon as Trump asks for an investigation on whether he was spied or illegally wire trapped, left quickly say he has crossed the line.

The left is in full panic mode this morning.

It's hard to figure out where to start with this level of NYTimes mendacity. First, the "extraordinary realm" was first explored by the FBI and CIA and DOJ in setting up the false Russia collusion narrative, including but not limited to the false dossier secretly paid for by the Clinton campaign and falsely used to get FISA warrants. Second, there is no legal justification for Mueller's investigation, as the only place 'collusion' is a federal crime is in antitrust, and the special prosecutor statutes require evidence of a crime to commence. Third, there is ample evidence already in the public realm of political bias in the FBI and DOJ as it pertains to the Trump investigations - and that does not even include the redactions which in the past have been revealed to avoid the appearance of rank bias and are not national security related as claimed. And fourth, just because the MSM does not report it, it does not mean it does not exist. Finally, the NYTimes already confirmed the facts of the matter here with their reporting driven by self-serving deep state leaks - in their frantic attempts to sanitize a job site porta-potty level of corruption. And I could probably come up with a dozen more points.

I agree completely. It looks like the left doesn’t believe in any type of oversight for the secrete police.

If a mole was inserred into Trump’s campaign to investigate Russia trying to influence our elections, Trump should have been told. Since he wasn’t, case closed.

The FBI and DOJ cabal was the operative tool used by Brennan to conduct the coup.

The NYT is one of the single most solid leftwing media members.

They have been a complete leftist bedrock, for generations. Now I am all for the fact that they, alone, seem to be basically fearless in their pro-American stance regarding China. But otherwise, I find them to be singularly uninterested in truth, about most matters.

If politics are involved, the NYT is parroting leftist talking points.

No question. This issue, involves the Democrats, and the Republicans.

This issue is one which DEFINES the leftist slant, of the New York Times. They are completely, 100%, no question on the exact same side as every democrat in the entire country.

That is a fact.

You are uninformed as the IG can speak to anyone associated and whowilling to talk. As a former Assistance and Investigations IG who handled over 17,000 IGARs it is well within the IGs mandate.

Hi guys. I hope all are well.
I am familiar with the utilization of periodic use of polygraphs which now are 100 % accurate with new technology. They are used with employees at cia and Doe all the time. They need to require them in this sedition case. I realize they are inadmissable in criminal cases but they will clean out the deep state and White House leakers.
