I hate politics. I hate what government has become. I don’t know if the Founding Fathers could have made their Constitution any better but this country certainly has failed it.

I agree...Way too many politicians get elected to office and believe they can do whatever they want with taxpayer dollars.

Our Constitution requires:
1) Belief in God and a desire to live by his commandments.
2) Community leaders who aspire to be virtuous citizens in their public and private lives. The writings of our founders are filled with passages speaking to their quest to live virtuous lives. For most of these men, their word was sacred.
3) A belief in individual liberty and fear of government power.
4) A common culture that values hard work, personal responsibility, love of family and community, respect for others, and respect for laws.
5) A weak national government with limited powers and many checks and balances.
6) Active citizen involvement in state and local government.

Take these common values out of the equation and the Constitution, as a contract between the people and government, will fail.

The constitution was written to govern honest people. That just did not materialize.
