These dishonest “scientists” really demonstrate that they are both worthless and desperate for grant money to pursue their idiotic theories. I have a theory: to cleanse science of these liar vermin, stop all grants for at least two decades.

If you back off into space, the earth looks like a basketball with a layer of dew on it. The idea that the condition of the atmosphere, within a even a hundred degrees of where it is now, would effect the continental plates is idiotic.

By the way, that photo Goebbels is the creepiest thing I see every day.

Right....only hypocritical morons continue to attend THAT church.

Liberal cons are still banging on about that and it's been a dead letter for at least a decade. People don't like coercive indoctrination.

Climate Change! Is there anything it can’t do?

Greenhouse gas aside, a primary problem is atmospheric ash pollution. It quickly gets picked up by winds aloft and speads around the earth.

The effects of that ash lasts in the atmosphere for many years. that ash reflects sunlight and results in wide spread cooling. You have raised an interesting fact about the green house gasses that prevent the radiation of heat.

Question...... does the volcanic green house gas warming effect offset the volcanic ash cooling effect?

Then, do the volcanic emissions affect the ability of wooly worms to adjust coloration to predict the coming winter?

Did not read the article...but what you said is actually correct.

Volcanoes..have caused changes in the world's climate..probably more than man has.

The article is so poorly written I can’t tell if it’s saying that climate change causes tectonic shift or tectonic shift causes climate change.

The former is pile of stinking dung and the latter could not be more true.

“to understand the subtleties of the present climate, now inexorably being altered by human action, it is necessary to understand change in the past as well, and to establish the principles that control the planet’s overall climate history.”

If the climate is being “inexorably” altered by human action, why are they attempting to stop what can not be stopped?

Generally, the volcanic ash causes temporary cooling of the atmosphere. How much cooling and how long depends on the size of the eruption.

Oh, and the causes some spectacular sunsets too.

The global warming, if it actually happens, would take longer to notice but would also be of longer duration. While ash clouds like happened from Pinatubo and Krakatoa caused demonstrable short-term cooling, I don’t know of any links from large eruption to delayed long-term warming.

I recently saw an excellant You Tube production on the Krakatoa eruption.

Included were paintings by an artist who traveled the world extensively to capture the sunsets resulting from the eruption. As I recall, the effects were lingering for as long as five years.

A FReeper put me on to You Tube war videos of which there seem to be an uncountable number.

For some reson, You Tube recommended the Krakatoa piece right in the middle of some war videos. I think it was because I followed a FRee Republic link describing the Hawaii erutptions.

Alas..... they know me too well

Well, yes. Mountains, the location of mountains, the proximity of land masses to the poles, and the relation of ocean currents to land masses are all driven by plate tectonics and have a great deal to do with the weather.

One of my favorite thoughts is that is as the Atlantic Rift spreads, Manhatten will be shifted westward effectively raisingthe sea level.

The tectonic shift outpaces the sealevel rice contributed by global warming. Manhatten is saved

“understand the subtleties of the present climate, now inexorably being altered by human action.”

That’s a hypothesis too.
