No.

What is it with Yankee liberals and their wet dream of a Democratic takeover of the South?

That will happen when pigs can fly.

Enjoy your misery...

My Misery? You will have to elaborate. Your response may make sense to you, but it doesn't make any sense to me.

Doesn’t matter one whit if he’s unelectable.

If he's unelectable, how did he win in 2012 with over a million votes?

Times change. He didn’t run for the Senate in 2012.

It wasn't the "times" that changed. Moore was on track to win massively before those lying accusations came out.

Don't mistake the passage of time for Lying accusations followed by massive media amplification with a big helping of Republican backstabbing added into the mix.

Do you think those would have been effective against either of the two other republican candidates?

The problem with Moore wasn’t the ‘backstabbing’ or the ‘allegations’. The problem was his history of being a nutcase.

Yes, though not as effective. Luther Strange would have been portrayed as a corrupt collaborator of the deposed governor who dropped a criminal investigation in exchange for being appointed to the Senate Seat.

Mo Brooks I thought had been more or less immuned, and then this showed up.

Maybe Mo Brooks would have sneaked through, but Luther Strange would have been hammered.

I think the attack on Moore was going to be the most effective effort because people want to believe that bible thumpers are hypocrites and evil people. It makes people feel good to claim this because it allows them to rationalize all of their own bad behavior and habits.

People wanted to believe that some creepy old religious nut was a child molesting rapist. It suited their biases against a hated class anyway. Also the media people pulled out all the stops to play up this angle, and they wouldn't have had such sensational material to work with had the nominee been Luther Strange or Mo Brooks.

The problem with Moore wasn’t the ‘backstabbing’ or the ‘allegations’. The problem was his history of being a nutcase.

That is demonstrably incorrect. He has always been known as a nutcase. The people of Alabama were okay with his nutcasery. They liked his religious stands. What they didn't like was the entire national media weapon portraying him as a child molesting rapist. *THAT* is what they objected to, not his religious nuttery.

You are blind to the objective truth because you want to believe what fits your biases.

He was only unelectable because Mitch McConnell and all of the rest of the GOPe spent millions of dollars to get him defeated.

Can you imagine how far Donald Trump would be if he didn’t have the headwinds of Mitch McConnell?

Judge Roy Moore is an embarrassment to the state of Alabama. Can you imagine how many votes the other candidates would have won by? We gave up a cinch win to appease a very limited number of Roy Moore fanatics.

“Can you imagine how far Donald Trump would be if he didn’t have the headwinds of Mitch McConnell?”

Trump would be a lot further without kamikaze candidates like Roy Moore.

You do realize you’re making my point that there are crazy republicans who do as much damage to the republican cause. Make all the excuses you want about why Roy Moore lost. He still lost to an easily beatable democrat in perhaps one of the reddest states in the Union. He lost because the people of Alabama thought he was such a nut that Doug Jones was preferable.

“I know the feeling as I live athwart the shithole of shitcago.“

Same here. Damn shame what’s happened to my State. Been here since 1972. I’d support making everything from Lake County IN to Milwaukee County WI, one county deep, it’s own State.

If you factor out about 8 counties Illinois is pretty much solid red.

You do realize you’re making my point that there are crazy republicans who do as much damage to the republican cause.

They will humiliate and embarrass Republicans that come from more Liberal, Urban states, and they will serve as archetypical "conservatives" for Liberal Smear campaigns, so I certainly see that side of the problem.

But that is not however true for the people of Alabama. Your claim that he will damage other Republicans in other states is not a good reason why the establishment should condone spreading lies about him across nationwide media.

Make all the excuses you want about why Roy Moore lost.

It isn't an "excuse" when it is valid. You can't shoot a man in the foot, and then claim he was a terrible runner, and that's why he lost. That is a deliberate effort to deny the reality of what happened.

He still lost to an easily beatable democrat in perhaps one of the reddest states in the Union.

Under the same circumstances, Donald Trump would have lost Alabama. There is virtually no defense from an all out Airwave assault from the Democrat media weapon, combined with a deliberate shot in the back from your own party.

Very few individuals could come up with a plan to win against the gale force winds of "child molesting rapist."

He lost because the people of Alabama thought he was such a nut that Doug Jones was preferable.

You keep projecting your own opinion onto the people of Alabama. Alabamans did not mind his religiousness. They minded the accusations of child molesting and rape.

Once again, he won in 2012 with over a million votes... Ten Commandment Nuttiness and all. You don't understand the demographics of Alabama to even make such a claim. They are quite happy with his religious nuttery, they just couldn't abide those accusations of child molesting and rape.

I’m thinking crook county has been ground zero for a lot of the nation’s troubles. It was Chicago that handed the 1960 election to Kennedy, (causing several major disasters) and then giving us Obama in 2008.

We gave up a cinch win to appease a very limited number of Roy Moore fanatics.

Roy Moore was a cinch win until a couple of liberal cockroaches crawled out from under a rock. (dragged out by that Democrat Kook who tried to run for office in Florida)

Roy Moore was going to win that massively, and then the media weapon fired, and so did Republican office holders who wanted him destroyed.

Do you think the millions spent by the GOPe, what was it, $10 million, to defeat him was money well spent?

Depends on Shelby. A lot of people apparently take stock in what the senile old rat says.

Richard Shelby did more to harm us in Alabama than anyone. He and Flake both need their arses whipped.

Absolutely. Those two cost us the election. People want to blame Moore, but had those two just sat on their hands, Moore would have won it.
