I was raised in Southern California and Iowa (i.e. a “Yankee”) but I have never voted for a liberal or a Democrat while living in Mississippi or Texas. You paint with a pretty broad brush.
Not too many liberal yankees here in Birmingham. Most transplants are Midwestern and largely conservative
