The one pic showed the dead perp laying on some grass so we know the citizen shot him outside. So, he may have gotten his weapon from his vehicle and then confronted the perp.
The report on Fox said that ths shooter was confronted and told to drop his gun. He then apparently did not and aimed it at the good guy who shot and killed him
The report was unclear as to how a person outside was aware of events within the restraunt.
