This is in Noblesville, Indiana. Not sure it it is rural, urban or suburban. But likely the shooter is a juvenile, so the media is oh so careful in hiding its identity. The did use the pronoun he, so likely a male or at least a male wanna be.

I’m very suspicious of the drugs young people are given. I understand in one class I heard about that nearly all the kids were on psychotropic drugs. I have no respect for the psychiatric profession. They messed up my mom and had her on many different drugs all at the same time. I would never trust a psychiatrist.
Yeah, I guess that kind of crap happens in MIDDLE school now. When I was a pup, we at least waited until HIGH school.
I live 7 miles by road or about 5 miles from that school as the crow flies. I would estimate 80% Upscale Suburban with a 5% Rural kids and 15% Towneys. There is a Section 8 apartment complex that sends kids there, but even that is pretty descent. It is Pollyanna Midwest in a place with virtually no unemployment and really low crime.
You are spot on regarding the hyper-publicizing of these events. They won’t show people streaking sporting events because the media know that the publicity creates copycats.
But, they publicize these events endlessly! The only rational reason: they want more events like this in order to further their political agenda.
Thus, the media are partly responsible for the deaths of children in school shootings.

We can pretty much predict....the kid is white, a gamer, and probably has been bullied over the past year. Pretty good odds that he’s on antidepressants.

Local media reported he was shot THREE TIMES while stopping the shooter. Also he is in surgery ATM.
College football player; kids loved him. etc etc.

Too bad he got shot. Of course we don't know the situation, but, if they aren't going to arm teachers, they should TRAIN adults how to create a diversion so the kid turns away (such at pointing and saying, "Look out! There's the cops!"), then hit him hard while going for the gun. Most people will turn toward you when you yell, and turn away in the direction you are pointing.
That's easy for me to say while sitting peacefully at my keyboard on one of our first real sunny, spring/summer-like day.
