I hate to see a company I support and respect like Publix buckle to the demands of a twerp like Hogg but this being said, I am surprised that any non-political organization like a grocery chain would donate to a political candidate of any party. It goes along with the saying, “Don’t piss off half your customers.”
The grocery chain probably wants to support the more business-friendly candidate, which has nothing to do with any other political issue like gun control. Publix should have said something along those lines rather than caving in to Camera Hogg and his puppet masters.
Why piss off half of your potential customers.
NFL are you taking notes here ? !
If the CEOs want to give to a charity or political party out of their own wallet, they're welcome to do so. However, when they use company profits to do so, that money belongs to their customers and earned by raising prices on products. Who gets the tax break? It's not the customers.
They’ve turned around just to alienate
the other half. They should have held
firm. My guess is their business will
still drop off.
We’ll probably be seeing a rash of armed
robberies at these stores, with the crooks
knowing there won’t be any CCW’s in the
vicinity. One more for the ever-growing
boycott list.
