The Nebraska State Patrol says the nearly 120 pounds of suspected cocaine and fentanyl that troopers seized last month turned out to be all fentanyl, a deadly opioid that federal officials blame for thousands of deaths nationwide.

The patrol says the stash was a record fentanyl seizure in Nebraska and estimates the drugs may have been worth up to $20 million on the street. The Drug Enforcement Administration says just 2 milligrams of fentanyl can be lethal. The fentanyl seized was enough to kill 26 million people, according to DEA estimates.

If only drugs were legalized, the government could make money off of this drug right before it killed 20 million people.

We have idiots on this board who think this way.

In Singapore, drug traffickers get the death penalty. I can't see where Singapore is wrong about this.

Yes. Basically the same rationale is being used/was used for the legalization and taxation of marijuana.

Sow the wind; reap the whirlwind.

Because fentanyl and its derivatives are so potent per unit, it takes up very little space which facilitates smuggling. The recent spike in opioid deaths is from fentanyl (and not opioid prescriptions) and this story was spiked by the CDC.

The ChiComs are pouring fentanyl into the US on purpose. They still remember the Opium Wars, and use that as an example to take down the USA.

And people still argue with me that convicted drug dealers should not suffer the death penalty.

China and the rest of Asia learned from that experience. To this day, the usual penalty for drug trafficking is death. We need to have the same laws in America, instead of turning drug traffickers loose on the streets like Obama did.

Not mentioned in this article but found and excerpted from a CNN article about the bust:

The driver of the truck, Felipe Genao-Minaya, 46, and passenger, Nelson Nunez, 52, both of New Jersey, were arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, the agency said.

Ah, those evil New Jerseyans!!

So.....they would be paying less than a dollar for every person to kill?

How does it kill 26m people? If they were to take the drug or if it was poured into the water supply?

Couldn’t fentanyl be dissolved into the water supply? Or would it dissipate enough to become harmless?

-—yep-—similar to the “one tenth of a gram of plutonium can kill 10 million people”-—that takes quite a distribution system-—

Well, if drug traffickers get the death penalty, they will fight to the death in any encounter with law enforcement.

A cornered enemy is the most dangerous enemy.

If you want to reduce drug trafficking, you need to make it less profitable. That means prosecuting drug laundering banks, and corrupt bureaucrats at the CIA, DEA etc. The deep state gets much of their money from drug protection rackets.

Look up Freeway Ricky Ross, Mena AR, Mexican drug cartels and the DEA.

I am totally opposed to the unconstitutional War on Drugs, but also support the death penalty for anyone distributing fentanyl. There is no difference between having a few ounces of this substance and carrying around a canister of Sarin gas.

So the question is was this really a mass murder plot, or would the drug get diluted?
