Donald Trump Jr. is furious with Instagram because he says the social media platform issued a warning to users searching his name.
After noticing a massive loss of followers in the past few weeks, President Trump’s oldest son claimed to have discovered a warning message issued to Instagram users and expressed his outrage in a post to the platform Friday night.
He tagged Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, which owns Instagram.
“REALLY?!?! Are you fricken kidding me? @zuck this is insane,” he wrote. “I get that my 3 year old Chloe can be pretty aggressive as are a few of my humorous memes, but this is ridiculous. If this account ‘could cause harm and even lead to death’ we have serious problems.”
Some social media platforms have been subject to criticism by Republicans over alleged censorship of conservative content, including Facebook, which prompted the company to commit to an internal review.

Break up Facebook and Google and Twitter, they are no different than Standard Oil over a hundred years ago. They are engaging in monopolistic practices and have control over their Market to the exclusion of everyone else. Break up Facebook.
If you break up Facebook into a 100 little companies in about 5 years you’ll have 100 more facebooks.

Facebook deleting a billion accounts is solid evidence of wrongdoing.
The SEC should be advised that FACEBOOK apparently mislead investors.

Investors should be mailing their FACEBOOK Annual Reports to their attorneys as we type.
The SEC prosecutes when publicly-held companies falsify Annual Reports.
If Twitter is now considered a public forum then Facebook should be one too if you are using it as a non-private page.
I can’t wait for the lawsuits to start. They will be sued for taking away people’s freedom of speech AND I am really waiting to add my name to a Class Action Lawsuit dealing with SELLING private information of it’s users without their knowledge.
I hope they get sued into oblivion.

It seems that this could constitute defamation. Regardless of Jr being a public figure what evidence does typing his name into the internet warrant “cause harm and even lead to death’?
I hope that Don Jr., makes them defend the accusations.
Were any Freepers able to make the same searches and get the warning message? Other media outlets say they didn’t get warning.
If something is up - I suggest it could be bot driven. Don’t really know Instagram, but perhaps if enough people report postings - a bot might automatically kick in at a certain threshold.

That is how this battle is going to be fought. Not regulations or laws. But by penalizing these companies abilities to label something in this manner.
A Hate Map by the SPLC is pretty generic. But look at what happened last August.

I hope Trump Jr spoke to some tech smarties before he went to bat with this complaint.
Consider the possibility that this warning message was generated based on Trump Jrs personal browsing and search history - and not just from the terms in question.
Until it can be shown that anyone else besides Trump Jr saw the warning message - there is no defamation.
Considering HE is the one who reported it - and not legions of his faithful followers - that seems a real possibility.
Zuckerberg has thrown off 3 of my friends on Facebook for posting conservative views. It seems to me he’s doubled down since his senate testimony.
