More than 200 headstones were spray-painted with swastikas at a Illinois cemetery overnight Saturday.
The cemetery is the resting place for more than 1,300 veterans and is planning to host a Memorial Day event on Monday, a local CBS affiliate reported.
Staff at the Sunset Hills Cemetery in Glen Carbon are working to clean up the vandalism before the event.

I collected my sister this morning for our annual cemetery rounds for Memorial Day weekend.
We stopped to see by brother first. He’s all by himself at a local cemetery. As usual, my sister did a wonderful job of putting together a very lovely floral arraignment.
Then, off to Fort Snelling to chat with Mom and Dad.
Usually, Fort Snelling is really busy on Memorial Monday.
This year was different.
Usually, this weekend in Minnesota is cloudy, rainy and cold.
It’s been in the 90’s the past few days and everybody was out and enjoying the warm spring weather.
What I discovered later, was that the vast majority of those packing Fort Snelling were volunteers.
They were planting American flags at each and every grave marker in the cemetery. 70,000 plus+!!!
Moms, Dads, kids, grandparents, Patriot Guard Riders. Anybody you can imagine.
I volunteered for next year. Wouldn’t miss it!
There are two cemeteries officially listed for veterans in Adams county IL. One operated by the fed (VA) the other by the state both have Quincy addresses. The one operated by the state is known as Sunset Veterans Cemetery the other as Quincy National .

It is off of I-270 8 miles east of the Mississippi River at North St. Louis County. It is not a National Cemetery. The National Cemeteries in the St. Louis area are in Alton, IL, and at Jefferson Barracks in south St. Louis County.
The Edwardsville Police Department states on its Facebook page that a 34-year old white male suspect has been taken into custody and that additional information will be released after charges are filed.

This is a good example of why I advocate dismantling and banning the Democrat Party and taking away the voting rights of known liberals.
Just a little note, I’ve ridden the light rail into Mpls. and it of course, as most people know, goes by Fort Snelling to and from the Mall of America. Once I was on that light rail and this guy, stood up at attention and saluted the Fort Snelling Cemetery the whole time we went by it. I don’t know what emotion I should say, it gives me goose bumps to think about it. I’ll never forget that...
