Abortion stigma is gone, says Irish PM after vote

Ireland on Saturday voted to erase the stigma and burden of shame from hundreds of thousands of women who secretly had abortions, Prime Minister Leo Varadkar said.

Speaking after a landslide referendum in favour of repealing the republic's ban on abortions, Varadkar said Ireland had emerged from the shadows and come of age.

"Today is an historic day for Ireland. A quiet revolution has taken place," he said in a speech at Dublin Castle, where the referendum result was declared, showing 66 percent had voted to repeal the constitutional ban on abortions.

Varadkar, Ireland's first gay prime minister, came to power last year in what was seen as another major milestone for diversity in Ireland. He took over as leader of the centre-right Fine Gael party, leading a minority government.

Abortion should be very rare. The best thing I ever have done is to pay an 18 YO acquaintance of my daughter to have her unborn child and let our friends adopt the child. The kid is going to college this year. We’ve moved, and barely kept in touch but I think Gracie is glad to be here amongst the rest of us.

So Ireland was overthrown by a deviant immigrant alien.

Varadkar is the son of Ashok Varadkar, and Indian who married his actual Irish mother.

Guess he hated the people so much he had to wreck the place.

He’s about as Irish as Obama. And from the same ilk.

Must be getting a lot of glee seeing that he just conned the Irish into genociding themselves.

Romans 1:24 Wherefore God gave them up to the desires of their heart, unto uncleanness, to dishonour their own bodies among themselves.

They're following the US and Europe down the toilet because they have abandoned God and now claim Man is the judge and measure of all things.

The Auschwitz gas chambers once had a stigma, but the Nazis quickly realized that it was a silly vestige of superstition that was holding them back. Primitive thinking indeed!

I’m a choice, not a child
I’m a choice, not a child
Mommy you hurt me
Mommy you hurt me so bad!

I am a part of you
yet I am different
I was becoming
but I never became
Just a blob of protoplazam inside you
Go ahead and do it
and don’t feel no shame
No need for shame

cause
I’m a choice, not a child
I’m a choice, not a child
Mommy you hurt me
Mommy you hurt me so bad!

As the scapel pierces me
I forgive you mommy
I know I’ll never see your face
And I’m so sorry that
you never wanted me
just cut me out
there’s no disgrace
there’s no disgrace

cause
I’m a choice, not a child
I’m a choice, not a child
Mommy you hurt me
Mommy you hurt me so bad!

cause
I’m a choice, not a child
I’m a choice, not a child
Mommy you hurt me
Mommy you hurt me so bad!
so bad
so bad

WRONG. It comes from within and will be with them on their deathbeds.

"Inclusive" would be a good word to describe the Amendment the Irish passed by 66.9% back in 1983, when they marched, cheered and voted for the most humane, enlightened, and (in the true sense) progressive legislation on the planet, pro-life Amendment 8. So it's not true that "Prolife all the way" cannot be a politically-winning position. It was, and it did.

Something disastrous has happened in Ireland in just the last 35 years.

The children and grandchildren of the Irishwomen who voted pro-life 35 years ago, just voted to say they were wrong.

At present about 3,000-4,000 Irish women per year go across the Irish Sea to snuff their babies in Liverpool (a certain class of right-thinking, progressive Brits have always been up for shedding Irish blood) --- but the sheer volume of Irish-baby-slaughter will skyrocket following this disastrous vote to revoke the 8th.

This this gleefully-passed, popular mandate for murder will succeed in doing what British oppression, Cromwell, war, deportation, terrorism and genocide-level starvation could not do in 350 years: it will crush the soul of Ireland.

On the contrary.

The Second Vatican Council said:

God, the Lord of life, has entrusted to men the noble mission of safeguarding life, and men must carry it out in a manner worthy of themselves. Life must be protected with the utmost care from the moment of conception: abortion and infanticide are abominable crimes. (Constitution on the Modern World, Gaudium et Spes, 51)

As the saying goes, “Talk is cheap.” Since the VC-II debacle the Church has not excommunicated a single politician who has campaigned in support of the abortion holocaust. Moreover, it has done virtually nothing to condemn deviant sexual practices either within the Church or in the secular domain. And meanwhile, the Jesuit advancement of socialism/communism in Latin America under the guise of “liberation theology” has enslaved millions of people, and here in America the Church has advocated for and come to the assistance of countless numbers of illegal aliens unlawfully in our country. And on and on it goes.

It's always a scene of good and evil contending, inside as well outside of the visible church. It's always a struggle between the faithful and the unfaithful.

Keep in mind that the Apostolic Signatura (Catholic equiv. of the Supreme Court) ruled that abortion-supporters should not receive Communion or any other ecclesial munus (service) including a Catholic Funeral, until they repent. Although Card. Burke was dropped from his position on the Signatura by Pope Francis, this ruling has never been rescinded, nor the legislation on which it was based (Canon Law 915).

Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden were publicly told not to come forward to receive; I don't know how many may have been told privately.

We should preach and teach these principles; we should also atone for these sins. I say the Prayer of Atonement for the Sins of Priests every night. Not because I'm good but because I'm complicit.

As you rightly said, above, this all is the horrendous result of the failure of the Roman Catholic Church to uphold and to teach the foundational doctrines of the Christian faith. Some pope (was it Pius IX?) said all the errors of the modern world are caused by Catholics not living and acting like Catholics.

The non-teaching and non-enforcement of our Catholic Canons is a deadly scandal in the exact and classic meaning of the word: it causes more people to fall into sin. This dereliction of duty would not be helped one iota by our dereliction from the Church.

Tagline.
