The tragedy is that some of these women were probably forced to wed or ‘be with’ these ISIS Jihadis. Remember hearing about the Yazidi Kurdish women, who were prized because of their green eyes and blondish hair? The truth is that no one really knows which women can ever be trusted in the general population again.

These were French women who ‘willingly’ went there to meet up with these killers. Nothing even close to the Yazidi women.

“The tragedy is that some of these women were probably forced to wed or ‘be with’ these ISIS Jihadis.”

Having spent time in Iraq, local women would have families or tribes that would stick up for them. Foreigners however are in a world of hurt. Unless their Governments make an issue about them, I would expect hangings to be the norm, after some rape and beatings in confinement - maybe serious torture, for those who are known to have killed or abused Iraqis.

The truth of the matter is that the foreigners (Westerners, Africans, Former Soviet Republics) were almost uniformly radical recruits themselves, even if they were young and foolish. They will almost all lie their asses off now to try to save their lives, but they have been true believers.

The ten minutes to beg for their lives, in many cases, will just be toying with people they already know they are going to execute. In Iraq, the jihadis they were married to are well known guys from the neighborhood, and the folks in the neighborhood got to know those foreign wives as well. Lot’s of witnesses. Lots of these women carried AK’s and bullied the locals. Now they will die for it.

For local women though, the Sectarian issue will loom large. Sunni women will be suspect, and at risk. They better have a good act and backup. Any that are defiant and speak out for the Islamic state will be hung with gusto. For the most part though, they will be probably be set free if no witnesses testify they were complicit. They have more legal protection than the foreigners.

Yezidis, on the other hand, will likely never see a courtroom. They are famous in Iraq as victims of ISIS. Officials will rush to get photo ops reuniting them with their families. Same with any Shi’ite former slaves or “wives”. They know the difference.
