I agree with the premise that Obama and his cabal should be charged with the crimes they committed, but impeachment is for sitting federal officers, not a private citizen. Obama is now just a private citizen. Admittedly one who got very, very rich sucking at the government teat, but private citizen nevertheless. And yes, I despise everything about Obama.

I’d prefer a more severe punishment than just impeaching odumbo.

... is impeachment possible for a PAST-sitting President?

Obama will not be prosecuted.
Too many people responsible for the Kenyanesian Usurpation are afraid their own culpability will be exposed.
Both parties colluded to violate the Constitution.

I was just starting a response to Kaslin which began, "it won't be long before somebody shows up claiming that you can't impeach a private citizen", and here you are!

Of course you can impeach a private citizen. Impeachment by Parliament was started to REMOVE ministers of the King who carried out policies that Parliament did not want, AND to designate individuals whom Parliament did not wish to allow the King to appoint. Parliament did not then, and does not now, have the authority to advise and consent to appointments, so impeachment provided a mechanism to achieve a similar result.

There are TWO punishments which the Senate can impose on an impeached and convicted person - the first, removal from office, does not apply to Obama. But the second, "disqualification to hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust or profit under the United States" is a FUTURE sanction which could be applied against anyone (Hillary Clinton, for example) who might seek office at a later time.

In the case of Obama, that would block President Kamala Harris from making him an ambassador, or appointing him to the Supreme Court.

"....I despise everything about Obama....."

I agree. I hate that man and what he did to the country during his 8 year regime.

The only good that came out his lawlessness, is that we elected Donald Trump to come in to conduct the "Cleanup in Aisle Obama" and destroy his rotten legacy.

But I am not so naive to think that anybody in authority will go after Obama now that he is out of office.

If Obama was indicted and/or tired and found guilty of sedition, treason or whatever, every urban center in the US would burn to the ground.

Trump supporters may be "deplorable" but many Obama supporters are criminal.

Riots, looting, arson, destruction of property, anarchy would abound.

Going after Hillary, on the other hand, is another story. She's the poster gal for government corruption. Two-time loser. Greedy, arrogant and known for her lies and dishonesty.

She could swing from the gallows and most people in the country would applaud.
