Do you think PDT is that small of a man?

His UN Ambassador was anything but a fan and she is certainly doing a good job.

PDT is a businesman with a businessman attitude and realizes not everyone is 100% for him.

The fact he hasn’t already fired all the BO ‘plants’ shows he is either very stupid or very sly- I prefer to think he is sly like a fox.

If 40 or 50 so years of good Conservatism is to be flushed down the drain because someone voiced his opinion than maybe we don’t know what we are doing.

Ben Carson also wasn’t PDTs biggest fan but managed to land on his feet.

PDT will choose his team by who can help him NOW and pettiness sometimes has to be put aside.

How else can we explain the Kushners???

Done.

For those of you that are miffed over him not jumping on the Trump train at the beginning, just think of the Liberal heads that will explode.

Sowell hates Trump

I was looking for a current quote, without success, so I don't know his thoughts on Trump
now. VDH shifted greatly on his Trump views, so maybe Sowell did as well. We simply
don't know.

But here is his statement just before the vote, which shows he doesn't "hate Trump" because he is voting for him:

Well, my preference would be to leave the office vacant for four years and to wait for
better things than 2016. Unfortunately that's not one of the options that we have. I think
it's going to be dangerous and not merely bad if either of them becomes president. The
question is, where's the danger greatest and, more importantly, most long-lasting? And I
think that even though Donald Trump has no coherent vision that looks that promising,
Hillary Clinton does have a vision, and it's a world in which she can, by determining
who's on the next Supreme Court--for the next 50 years law in America can be
undermined. The First and Second Amendments we can write off if she's allowed to put a
majority on that court. And so long after, whether it's Clinton or Trump, long after they
leave office, the people they put on the Supreme Court will be a legacy for the next
generation and perhaps put an end to constitutional law in this country. And on that basis,
I would vote against Hillary Clinton.

That quote does not say he will ever vote for Trump.

He only says he will “vote against Hillary Clinton,” which is what some NeverTrumpers did by voting 3rd party (the rest stayed home or voted for Hillary).

>> you have to take Dr. Sowell’s contributions as a life work <<

Admirable sentiment. But I guess it will be totally incomprehensible to folks like the Sowell-bashers on this thread.

Although there is little hope for the ignorant, enlightenment can cure the Sowell bashing

I guess that a "little hope" is clearly better than "no hope at all."

So let's keep our fingers crossed that the Sowell bashers are only "ignorant" -- as opposed to being in some kind of irredeemable category.

I'm trying my best not to use the term "stupidity" to describe the latter. But . . .

Exactly, President Trump has risen to the gravitas and dignity of the office, we have seen so many “pretenders” who knew how to go through the motions but didn’t have it in their hearts, which is only, after all, loving America and Americans first. What else, in the big picture, should the elected leader of the United States do? And how many have we had there who might have looked the part, but at the end of the day and in the depths of their souls, did not have America and Americans’ interests as their priority, often anything but that? Look how many in the past mouthed the words about understanding the feelings and thoughts of the majority of Americans about the utter wrongness of illegal immigration, in so many ways and for so many reasons, but proved by their actions that it was all lies? And even later, once they were out of office, they felt free to even say that they side with illegal immigration? They always give specious reasons for their position, but it always boils down to the fact that illegal immigration doesn’t harm them personally, in their status of life, and often even contributes to their business or personal political interests. They don’t know or care what it does to average Americans working, or trying to work, for a living wage and the American Dream which is an American citizen’s birthright, if they’re willing to do the pursuing. None of them care what illegal immigration does to us. President Trump does, and he understands that neither he nor American citizens need apologise for protecting American interests first. It’s only what the leadership of any healthy nation does.
