Assad Regime Intentions in the Southwest De-escalation Zone
US Department of State ^ | 5/25/2018 | Heather Nauert

Posted on 05/28/2018 9:13:46 AM PDT by Spiridon

The United States is concerned by reports of an impending Assad regime operation in southwest Syria within the boundaries of the de-escalation zone negotiated between the United States, Jordan and the Russian Federation and reaffirmed between President's Trump and Putin in DaNang, Vietnam in November. The United States remains committed to maintaining the stability of the southwest de-escalation zone and to the ceasefire underpinning it. We also caution the Syrian regime against any actions that risk broadening the conflict or jeopardize he ceasefire. As a gurantor of this de-escalation area with Russia and Jordan, the United States will take firm and appropriate measures in response to Assad regime violations.....

.....the Assad regime, with the support of Russia and Iran, has repeatedly violated these de-escalation zones, most recently in its brutal assault on East Ghouta......

I've become aware of this over the weekend and find it very disturbing. It was put out late Friday to keep publicity down but it may turn into big news in the days ahead.

We are in Syria to fight ISIS, President Trump tells us and we are getting out.

Then the President says Assad is an "animal" and "monster" and so on. Military actions against the Syrian government are launched.

Schizo policy here, not consistent with what President Trump promised you and me.

It will not be right to launch any more military action yet this statement seems to set the stage for Round Three of US military action in Syria.

The "De-Escalation Zone" was cut last fall and has a six month time on it that expired April 11th.

The Assad regime feels free to act and so let Syria be run by the Syrians and America be run by the Americans and so on.

Three strikes and you're out.........

How come Syria wasnt involved in “ negotiations” to partition its country and set up a reservation for ISIS?
Syria is the worst debacle in Trumps foreign policy and supports every bad theory that we are Israeli puppets and both of us supporting ISIS and al Qaeda sunni islamist militants on behalf of the Saudis
Assad is far more worthy of redemption and a meeting than Kim Jong Un
We should be fighting with Assad and Russia to liberate secular Syrians from brutal extremism

This is a serious thing....

I posted on my blog without a link to this full statement last Friday from the State Department.

Who is running our government, the POTUS or foreign interests like the jihadists fighting Assad in Syria.

Forget Russia, it distracts from what’s really going on.

Vladimir and Bibi confer together during private meeting...

...sharing another private moment together.

Clearly these two leaders have chemistry...

Well they should
Israel has the 2d or 3d largest Russian speaking population
Many Russian jews emigrated to Israel
There are ties
Several reports Israel and Russia have worked out deal to keep Iran away from border and maybe out of Syrian bases

Bibi's just letting your hero, Vlad the Imploder, know what'll happen if he sides with his "ally", the failed state of Syria.

Heather says we are in Syria to fight the Syrian govt.

Who are you to disagree?

Trump’s views clearly do not matter.
